Portugal: CR7 Back in Action

Portugal enters this clash on the back of a 6-0 win over Luxembourg in their most recent game. A brace from Al-Nassr super striker Cristiano Ronaldo and goals from forward Joao Felix, Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, Porto midfielder Otavio and AC Milan attacker Rafael Leao secured the win for Portugal.

It’s no secret that Portugal has one of the best squads in international football, but many have criticized the way that team has been used. For a long time, Fernando Santos was accused of not getting the best out of the many talented players at his disposal.

Portugal parted company with manager Fernando Santos following their World Cup quarterfinal defeat by Morocco. Roberto Martinez has been appointed as the new head coach of the men’s national team. The 49-year-old was a free agent, having left his role as Belgium’s head coach after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Ronaldo’s future at the international level appeared to be uncertain after he was dropped from the starting lineup for Portugal’s knockout fixtures at the World Cup by former coach Santos. However, upon being appointed, Martinez made it clear that he wanted to assess Ronaldo based on what he could bring to the pitch.

We will definitely include Portugal in our soccer picks and parlays as we expect them to win another game. Martinez is spoiled for choices when it comes to the forward areas, but Silva is a certain starter while Felix is also likely to be given the nod from the first whistle.

Bosnia & Herzegovina: Fighting for Second Spot

The Bosnians had a dream start as they demolished Iceland 3-0 on the first day of the qualification at their Bilino Polje. Three days later, they ruined everything that they did well during the first round, returning home empty-handed from the visit to Slovakia in Bratislava in a 2-0 defeat. They are not regarded as a good visiting team so if you’re betting online, you should fade them here.

Even with Edin Dzeko, Faruk Hadzibegic’s men do not have a great chance on Saturday, especially after earning just one victory on the road. Dzeko has often been regarded as one of the most underrated strikers in Europe. The 37-year-old still managed to register decent attack numbers for Inter Milan this season despite limited starts at club level, but his national team colleagues are not at his level.

A big blow for Bosnia boss Hadzibegic will be the absence of two key screws. Augsburg striker Ermedin Demirovic has ligament problems while AC Milan midfielder Rade Krunic also remains sidelined for June’s Euro 2024 qualifiers with a knee injury.

Portugal vs Bosnia & Herzegovina Head-to-Head

Portugal have won their first two qualifiers by an aggregate score of 10-0. Bosnia-Herzegovina have seen 16 goals in their last five games. Portugal have not drawn in any of their last 13 matches. Portugal’s last four matches have seen 18 goals scored. Portugal have won eight of the last 10 home games with at least a two-goal margin. Eight of Bosnia’s last nine matches have seen them find the back of the net. The last time the two teams played each other was back in 2011, with Portugal winning 6-2.

Portugal vs Bosnia & Herzegovina Picks and Prediction

The hosts enter this clash as heavy favorites being priced at -600 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds while the goal line is set at three.

Portugal won the European Championship in 2016 but they were knocked out in the round of 16 at Euro 2020 and will certainly be looking to make a bigger impression next summer – should qualification for the finals of the competition be secured. They are undoubtedly the favorites to top their group and we expect them to add three more points to their tally. They have too much quality going forward and they should be able to cover the spread on Saturday.
