PSG, Newcastle, Dortmund and AC Milan in the Group of Death

This season’s Champions League officially took shape on Thursday when UEFA held the draw to determine the competition’s eight groups. Our sportsbook offers the best markets and live betting in the UCL.

Champions League Group Draw

  • Group A – Bayern Munich, Manchester United, FC Copenhagen, Galatasaray
  • Group B – Sevilla, Arsenal, PSV Eindhoven, Lens
  • Group C – Napoli, Real Madrid, Braga, Union Berlin
  • Group D – Benfica, Inter Milan, RB Salzburg, Real Sociedad
  • Group E – Feyenoord, Atletico Madrid, Lazio, Celtic
  • Group F – Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Newcastle
  • Group G – Manchester City, RB Leipzig, Red Star Belgrade, Young Boys
  • Group H – Barcelona, Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk, Royal Antwerp

The Group of Death

Particularly fascinating will be the Group F draw with PSG, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Newcastle United, which will see the Qatar-owned French champions do battle with the Saudi-backed Premier League outfit.

Group F is one of the deadliest groups of death the Champions League draw has produced. Newcastle is returning to the Champions League for the first time in two decades. How will a star-studded PSG side led by Kylian Mbappe fare in this group now that Lionel Messi is in MLS and Neymar has moved to Saudi club Al Hilal? AC Milan reached the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League last season

The Italian giants, with some familiar former Premier League players in their ranks including England internationals Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, only just squeezed past Tottenham last season, Dortmund have lost their best player Jude Bellingham and PSG are in flux once again.

Borussia Dortmund reached the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League last season, where they were eliminated by Chelsea. They will hope to fare better in the competition this season. We expect PSG to struggle once again with Kylian Mbappe saga not being over yet. If you’re betting online, goals should be on the menu in this group.

Man City Ready To Take UCL by Storm

Defending champion Manchester City has been drawn in Group G of the Champions League 2023-24 season, along with RB Leipzig, Red Star Belgrade Young Boys. The Citizens won the first Champions League in its history after beating Inter Milan 1-0 in the final last season. They are huge favorites to win this group being priced at -900 with the latest soccer odds, so there’s no value betting on them.

As Pep Guardiola chases a record fifth Champions League, progress should be straightforward, Man City is expected to take their UCL group by storm. They should easily win all six games but make sure they are using their best starting lineup in every match before backing them. RB Leipzig has beaten Manchester City and drawn with them in their two meetings in Germany, but two games at the Etihad have brought a 7-0 and a 6-3 defeat.

Barcelona Should Easily Qualify From Group H

FC Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk and Royal Antwerp are the teams that stand in Barca’s way of getting to the last 16 after they were thrown together in Group H. All three opponents have notable qualities or they simply wouldn’t be among the 32 best teams in Europe.

Barcelona won La Liga last season but doubts remain as to their quality. Two comfortable defeats by Bayern Munich and a single point against Inter Milan condemned them to a group-stage exit last season, and they were well beaten by Manchester United in the Europa League.

FC Porto is current Portuguese cup holders and went out in the round of 16 in the Champions League last season. Shakhtar Donetsk are Champions League regulars. The Ukrainian champions will play home matches in Hamburg in Germany due to the impossibility of playing in Ukraine because of the ongoing armed conflict.

Real Madrid and Napoli are Battling for the Top Spot

One of the most thrilling Champions League groups this season will see Serie A champions Napoli come up against serial Champions League winners Real Madrid.

Real Madrid will face Napoli, Braga and Union Berlin in Group C. The Spanish giants are the clear favorites to win the group, despite not having signed a star striker during the summer transfer window and losing Vinicius Junior for several weeks due to injury.

Rudi Garcia’s side still boast Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the best player of the last Serie A, and Victor Osimhen, the league’s top scorer with 26 goals. Real Madrid and Napoli have played each other four times in Europe with a balance of 3 wins for Los Blancos and a draw.
