Sassuolo welcomes Udinese to Mapei Stadium on Saturday looking for their first victory in eight games against Udinese. Our sportsbook is offering a great range of betting markets and props for the top European soccer leagues.
Sassuolo: Aiming at Top-Half Finish
Sassuolo will be keen to put an end to their three-game losing run when they play host to Udinese. They were trashed by Napoli last weekend allowing six goals with four in the first 21 minutes. Maxime Lopez scored their only goal three minutes before the end of the game.
Always a goalscoring threat thanks to their prolific attacking line, Sassuolo was unable to fight back showing once against their focus issues, being well known for their huge ups and downs. Losing four of their last five league games has seen Alessio Dionisi’s men hit the buffers following a fine spell of form.
They may well have endured some misfortune at the Mapei Stadium, but Dionisi will be concerned that his team has now gone nine games without a clean sheet in Serie A since returning from San Siro with a 2-0 win over Inter, one of only three clean sheets of the season for the hosts. Still sitting comfortably 11th in the standings, the Emilian club only has a top-half finish to fight for before the curtain falls on another decent season, one which will end with several of their stars in high demand.
Hamed Traore and long-term absentees Jeremy Toljan and Abdou Harroui will miss out for Sassuolo, who should remain relatively unchanged despite three defeats in a row. Defender Giorgios Kyriakopoulos is expected to start against Udinese after serving his one-match suspension last weekend against Napoli. Sassuolo’s best player, Domenico Berardi is missing just one goal to finish the season with 15 goals for the fourth domestic campaign in a row. Given their lack of consistency we don’t recommend you include Sassuolo in your soccer picks and parlays.
Udinese: Decent Form
Gabriele Cioffi’s side is firing on all cylinders, and a midweek thumping of in-form Fiorentina continued their upward trajectory in some style. Unfortunately, they failed to double that with another win against Inter, losing 2-1 against the current Serie A reigning champs. If we are talking only about the month of April, Udinese finished second behind Inter and they’ve scored four goals or more in three of their last seven games.
A team transformed under their current manager, Udinese has scored the second-highest tally of goals in the last 15 minutes of the games during their domestic campaign – 16, scoring at least once after the 75th minute in three of their last six outings. Last weekend, their only goal against Inter came in the 72nd minute so we won’t add it to our stats.
With three rounds to go till the end of the season, they are sitting closer to the European places than the drop zone and have already bettered last term’s points tally. They are a tough team to play against and despite having nothing to play for we expect them to enter this clash full on confidence and eager to deliver once again.
Though center-forward Beto is still sidelined by a hamstring problem while Nehuen Perez returned last weekend from his one-match suspension and he is expected to feature once again in the starting lineup. If you’re betting online you should already know that the final games of the season in each of the five top European leagues are fully packed with goals and you should leave the moneyline aside and focus on the goals market.
Sassuolo vs Udinese Head-to-Head
Udinese has the upper hand on their opponents being unbeaten in their last seven head-to-heads against Sassuolo winning four in the process. They managed to win the reverse fixture 3-2 on home soil back in November 2021. Udinese is not regarded as a good traveler winning just four in 17 road games all season long conceding 28 goals in the process. On the other side, Sassuolo managed to win just six in 17 home games allowing 26 goals and scoring the same number of goals in the process. They won three of their previous four home games scoring at least twice on each occasion. Udinese won two of their last three trips scoring eight goals in the process.

Sassuolo vs Udinese Predictions
The hosts enter this clash as slight favorites being priced at +135 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds while the goal line is set at three.
Alessio Dionisi is likely to see his squad decimated by sales in the summer transfer window, with the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Giacomo Raspadori being linked with the top clubs in Italy and Europe. Indeed Sassuolo’s front line has been highly impressive this season, scoring the seventh-most goals in Serie A. Their attacking form is let down by their defensive composure, which explains why they sit four places lower than their goalscoring would suggest.
With both sides averaging over a goal scored and a goal conceded per game, a bet on the goals market this weekend should pay off. Given Udinese’s recent road form and Sassuolo’s home form, we expect at least three goals scored in the match with both sides contributing on the scoresheet.
