Turning Things Around
After a very rocky start, the Seattle Sounders are finally turning things around, winning five of their last seven matches. Even so, they’re 10 points behind Western Conference-leading Los Angeles FC,.
CF Montreal also started the season on the wrong foot, losing its first three games. Now, the Impact are only one victory away from first place in the Eastern Conference. As if that wasn’t enough, this will be Montreal’s first road game in over a month. That’s one of the reasons for them to come in as the betting online underdogs despite owning a better record.
Summing up, you won’t have to go to the movies to watch a thriller on Wednesday.
Seattle Sounders: Keeping it Clean
This will be the Seattle Sounders’ fifth straight game at home. They won three out of the previous four, only failing to defeat Los Angeles FC, just like we predicted. Most recently, they defeated Sporting KC 3-0. Will Bruin, Jordan Morris and Cristian Roldan were the scorers.
The Sounders were expected to defeat Sporting KC as they were offering a -125 price in the sportsbook. However, what’s more important is that they managed to finish with a clean sheet for the third time in their last six games.
We often praise Seattle’s attacking unit. It’s very good, but the defense also deserves credit. Only the Los Angeles Galaxy (16) has allowed fewer goals than the Sounders (17) in the Western Conference. They’ll try to keep consecutive clean sheets for the first time since May 2021.
Once again, the Sounders come in as the favorites at -120. If you want to include them in your soccer picks, you need to invest $120 to win $100. Considering they’ve been considerably better when playing at home, that’s not bad. Seattle is 5-1-2 at home, and 2-1-4 on the road.
CF Montreal Likes to Strike First
First of all, CF Montreal has scored the most goals in the Eastern Conference and third-most in the MLS, with 30. Second of all, the visitors have scored five times in the opening two minutes of a half, the most in the league.
Sounds perfect, right? The problem is, the Impact has also allowed 28 goals, tied for fourth in the league. Last Saturday, they suffered more than expected to defeat Charlotte FC at home. The game ended 2-1 with Romell Quioto and Mathieu Choiniere scoring for the Impact.
That was the Impact’s eighth victory of the season. They’ve only had more victories at this stage of season only once, reaching nine wins after 16 games in 2013.
The Impact, 3-2-3 on the road, is offering a +350 price. In this case, you would need to invest $100 to win $350. Considering they scored in seven of those away games, and lost only lost one of their last five on the road, that’s very tempting.

Seattle Sounders vs CF Montreal Prediction
CF Montreal will put up a good fight, no doubt about it, but there’s one problem. They’ll likely be without midfielder Djordje Mihailovic, who was having an MVP-caliber season. He’s recovering from injury. On the other hand, Seattle top scorer Raul Ruidiaz (five goals) will be back after missing the game against Kansas City. Therefore, our soccer betting prediction is a close victory for the home side, enough for the team’s total to go over.
Score Prediction: Seattle Sounders 2, CF Montreal 1
