Now that their CONCACAF Champions League responsibilities are over, the Seattle Sounders are once again focused on MLS. Right now, they sit in seventh place, but they’ve played one fewer than any team in the league.
A win over Los Angeles FC on Saturday would allow the Sounders to climb up to third place in the Western Conference.
Beating LAFC won’t be easy, though. Carlos Vela and company sit in first place and no other team has scored more goals than them. Even so, the host Sounders dominate the soccer lines thanks to a +120 price.
Seattle Sounders: All-In
That’s what the Seattle Sounders must do: Go all-in. Otherwise, Los Angeles FC would increase its advantage to 13 points over Seattle. The good news is that the Sounders have enough talent to do so, especially when it comes to the attacking unit.
Most recently, they crushed the Vancouver Whitecaps 4-0. Nicolas Lodeiro opened the can only five minutes into the game before Raul Ruidiaz scored twice to increase the advantage. Alex Roldan sealed the deal with one minute left on the clock. Believe it or not, the Whitecaps didn’t take a single shot on target.
Ruidiaz is the team’s top scorer with five goals. He’s followed by Lodeiro with three. Neither of them had action during the international break, meaning both are well-rested and eager to play. Same for Freddy Montero, who’s coming back from injury. Albert Rusnak, Cristian Roldan and Jordan Morris will be available as well. All three were on international duties.
Regarding MLS, the Sounders have been considerably better when playing at home, where they own a 4-0-2 record. On the other hand, they’re 2-1-4 on the road. That’s why they come in as the betting online favorites despite facing the team in the first place. Well, being the CCL champions also has something to do with it.
Los Angeles FC: Comfortable on the Road
Carlos Vela and company sit in first place thanks to a 9-2-3 record. Four of those victories came on the road. Here’s why that’s kind of impressive: LAFC totaled just five wins over 26 road matches over the previous two seasons.
Their last road match was against the Columbus Crew. They won 2-0 with goals from Vela and Jose Cifuentes. Curiously enough, the Crew won possession with 65 percent. In other words, LAFC’s strikers are lethal. That’s why they’re the top scoring team with 29 goals in total.
Most recently, they defeated the San Jose Earthquakes 3-2. Cristian Arango, Ryan Hollingshead and Brian Rodriguez were the scorers. That’s the thing about LAFC, they don’t depend on any player to score and get results. In fact, LAFC’s substitutes have scored 10 goals, more than any other team’s bench.
LAFC is offering a +215 price in the sportsbook. That means you need to wager $100 in order to opt for a $315 payout. The Black and Gold aren’t used to being the underdogs, but that’s precisely what makes them a very tempting option.
There’s also the fact that the entire team is highly motivated after they signed Giorgio Chiellini. The veteran Italian defender will contribute a lot, both on and off the field.

Seattle Sounders vs Los Angeles FC Prediction
The total for this match is set at 2½ goals. In their previous 13 meetings, the total went over 2½ goals eight times. We expect that trend to continue. Therefore, including the over (-140) in your soccer picks is the safest bet. Here’s a bold option, but one that would also benefit you more: Bet the draw at +270. The Sounders haven’t drawn at home, but that’s because they haven’t faced a team as good as LAFC.
Score Prediction: Seattle Sounders 2, LAFC 2
