Serbia: Experienced Squad

A late goal from Aleksandar Mitrovic saw Serbia stun Portugal on Sunday and qualify for this year’s FIFA World Cup. Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic offered the national team players a one million euro bonus before their game against Portugal in the event they managed to secure direct qualification. The team showed maturity and composure under the most intense pressure and we expect them to continue on that trend.

The creativity and flair of experienced Dusan Tadic will likely pose problems for their Nations League group opponents, while there are also other useful attacking options in Aleksandar Mitrovic and Luka Jovic. If they play with cohesion, Serbia could end up surprising many people and win the group.

Former Red Star Belgrade midfielder Dragan Stojkovic has suffered just two defeats since taking charge of Serbia in March last year, making his team difficult to defend. Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is out of Serbia’s squad for the upcoming Nations League games, but there are still eight Serie A-based players on the team.

They include the Milinkovic-Savic brothers (Lazio midfielder Sergej and Torino goalkeeper Vanja), Matija Nastasic and Aleksa Terzic of Fiorentina, Sassuolo’s Filip Djuricic, the Verona pair of van Ilic and Darko Lazovic plus Torino’s Sasa Lukic. They scored 18 goals in eight games during the World Cup qualifying campaign in managing to stay unbeaten. Mitrovic scored a record of 43 goals in 46 matches for Fulham this season, helping his team earn a Premier League spot. He also scored eight goals during the WC qualifiers for Serbia. If you love your props, you should include him in your soccer picks and parlays.

Norway: Out of World Cup

Norway plays Serbia and Sweden away on June 2 and June 5 before returning to Oslo to host Slovenia and the Swedes in Nations League Group B4. Manchester City’s newest player, Erling Haaland, has joined the Norway squad for the upcoming games. The 21-year-old, who scored 22 goals in 24 Bundesliga games this season and is expected to become a City player on July 1, entered Monday’s news conference full of enthusiasm. He declared he’s ready to play his best and help his country win the group after failing to qualify at the World Cup.

Norway finished third in the WC qualifying group behind the Netherlands and Turkey, dropping seven points in their final four games. Stale Solbakken is under huge pressure after failing to achieve the objective.

Europa League winner Jens Petter Hauge has joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a permanent basis after his loan deal from last summer turned into an obligation to buy from AC Milan. They also have Alexander Sorloth from Real Sociedad and Martin Odegaard from Arsenal on their squad. If you’re betting online, you should know that Norway have failed to find the back of the net in just one of their last five fixtures across all competitions.

Serbia vs Norway Head-to-Head

Serbia have enjoyed a streak of five victories before the last game while Norway also won the previous two matches. The Eagles are rock-solid on home soil where they are undefeated in the last seven duels and will be more confident following Norway’s last away defeat. The teams have faced each other only once in their history, with Serbia beating Norway 2-1 on the road. Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic scoring the winning goal in extra time. At home, Serbia scored at least two goals in six of their last seven fixtures across all competitions, failing to keep a clean sheet on five occasions.

Serbia vs Norway Predictions

Serbia enter this clash as slight favorites, priced at +130 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds. The goal line is set at two with the overs being heavily juice at -150.

Serbia have amazing attacking firepower and despite missing Vlahovic, they have Mitrovic, who is expected to deliver once again after enjoying the best season of his career. We expect an entertaining match between two great attacking sides so despite being heavily juiced, the over two goals should easily cash. Serbia’s creativity is outstanding and they can fight with any team in the world, so we expect them to score at least two goals on their own.

Norway will try to kick off their Nations League campaign with a win after failing to qualify for the World Cup and they have Haaland, probably the most powerful striker in Europe.

Pick: Serbia Team Total Over 1½ goals (+140)
