Sevilla Keeping Pressure on Real Madrid

European Weekend Longshot Parlay

Second-placed Sevilla is traveling to play mid-table team Osasuna in the Spanish top-flight league, striker-less Union Berlin will be happy with a draw away against Augsburg in the Bundesliga while Sampdoria and Sassuolo will face each other this weekend in Serie A. Our sportsbook is offering a great price for this weekend’s longshot parlay.

Osasuna vs. Sevilla (La Liga Round 23)

Julen Lopetegui and Sevilla are a match made in heaven. The visitors are sitting second in the La Liga standings, just four points behind leaders Real Madrid. They have the best defense in their domestic league with just 16 goals conceded in 22 games and they have the best home record with 27 points picked up from a possible 30 with eight wins in 11 home games.

Sevilla determined to maintain the pressure on Real Madrid

They enter this clash on the back of eight unbeaten games in a row and they are favorites to add three more points at +120 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds. They had a busy international break as they signed Anthony Martial from Manchester United on loan for the remainder of the season. They will pay him around $8m and cover the player’s wages during his time in La Liga, although there is no option to buy the 26-year-old.

Martial’s arrival in Spain generated considerable fanfare but there had been a wait to see him training with his new club for the first time. It remains to be seen whether Martial goes straight into the starting XI given his recent lack of game time. A powerful forward with great pace, he should be a perfect fit for Sevilla.

Sevilla has a great record against Osasuna, beating them in their last four mutual encounters, including the reverse fixture, and keeping three clean sheets in the process. Osasuna is one of the worst home teams in the league, earning just 11 points in 11 games while winning just two and conceding 16 goals. We love the value on Sevilla, and we will include them in our soccer picks and parlays.

Pick: Sevilla +120

Augsburg vs. Union Berlin (Bundesliga Round 21)

Union Berlin is one of the most consistent teams of the season in the German top-flight league. They are sitting fourth in the standings, trailing leaders Bayern Munich by 15 points. They enter this clash on the back of five unbeaten domestic games, winning three. Not only are they one of the best teams on home soil, but they also started to pick up points on the road.

Taiwo Awoniyi is back from the Africa Cup of Nations and he will definitely lead the attacking line against Augsburg. Unfortunately, they lost Max Kruse, who signed with Wolfsburg in the January transfer window. Still, they are rock-solid at the back and they have plenty of options in the final third.

On the other side, Augsburg has the third-worst attack in the league with just 20 goals scored in 20 games, winning just four. The reverse fixtures ended in a goalless draw with the two teams sharing the spoils. Given their superb run of form, we are going with Union Berlin to win this clash to secure their spot and possibly leapfrog Leverkusen in the standings.

Pick: Union Berlin +150

Sampdoria vs. Sassuolo (Serie A Round 24)

The international break was a relief for Sampdoria, which lost its previous four Serie A games and failed to score in two of them. They sacked coach Roberto D’Aversa after a run of three consecutive defeats, but their new coach lost in his debut at Spezia 1-0. They are now sitting 16th in the standings, just three points above the danger zone. They conceded almost two goals per match, and if they continue like that, we will see them in Serie B at the end of the season.

On the other side, Sassuolo is one of the most entertaining teams in the league, but they are very unpredictable and if you’re betting online, we don’t recommend you back them. Three of the last four head-to-heads between the two sides ended with a maximum one goal on the scoreboard. Sampdoria should be happy with one point here and we expect them to have a defensive approach. On the other side, Sassuolo is struggling to play against teams who are sitting with 11 players behind the ball. The goal line is set at three and we don’t see this match going over, so we are taking the under.

Pick: Under 3 goals (-115)
