Soccer Bet Prediction: Bet Draw in MLS Final

Finishing the MLS regular season atop the standings means absolutely nothing. This Saturday, the Columbus Crew will play host to Los Angeles FC in the championship game after both finished third in their respective conference. As expected, the home side is favored in our soccer odds board but don’t forget the visitors are the reigning champions.

Columbus Crew: Comeback for the Ages

Last Saturday, the Columbus Crew visited FC Cincinnati for the MLS Eastern Conference final. The Black and Gold had a disastrous first half, which they lost 2-0. Nevertheless, substitutes Julian Gressel and Christian Ramirez sparked the comeback in the second. Ramirez scored the winner in the 115th minute.

Prior to that, Columbus eliminated Atlanta United and Orlando City. They were underdogs in our MLS lines for two of those three series. Head coach Wilfried Nancy, who used to work for CF Montreal, has done a great job reestablishing a winning mentality.

Nancy turned the Crew into the top scoring team in the league with 67 goals. They also finished atop the assists chart with 72. Striker Camilo Hernandez continues to lead the way with four goals in the postseason. That’s in addition to the 20 he scored during the regular season.

The Crew haven’t lost at Lower.com Field since April. To give you a better idea, they’re 4-1-0 in their last five home games with 12 for and only four against.

Los Angeles FC Back-to-Back?

No team has won the MLS Cup in back-to-back seasons after the Los Angeles Galaxy did it in 2011 and 2012, but Los Angeles FC has a great chance to rewrite history on Saturday.

The Boys in Gold are highly motivated after not having too much trouble defeating the Houston Dynamo in the Western Conference final. They won 2-0 with Ryan Hollingshead and Franco Escobar as the scorers.

Prior to that, they eliminated the Vancouver Whitecaps and Seattle Sounders, both on the road, making them an even more tempting MLS betting underdog for Saturday’s clash in Columbus.

Denis Bouanga finished the regular season as the league’s top scorer with 24 goals. He has also scored four goals in the playoffs.

LAFC has done a very good job on the road. They haven’t lost since early September and finished with a clean sheet in three of their last five matches.

LAFC Unbeaten Against Crew

The Columbus Crew and Los Angeles FC have met three times, and LAFC won them all. Most recently, they won 2-0 at Lower.com Field. In fact, two of the three victories were in Columbus.

Besides being undefeated, LAFC hasn’t conceded a single goal and has scored seven. However, I don’t expect that online betting trend to continue Saturday. I expect the total, which is set at 2½ goals, to go over.

Soccer Bet Picks for Columbus Crew vs Los Angeles FC

Columbus Crew finished the regular season as the top-scoring team with 67 goals. On the other hand, Los Angeles FC scored 54. In addition, the top two scorers will be on the pitch. Summing up, this is a matchup made in heaven, which I expect to finish with a draw. That’s right, I expect regular time to finish 2-2.
