Soccer Pick Prediction: Spain Best Bet at Home vs Scotland
Time to forget about La Liga, the English Premier League and pretty much all European leagues – at least for a couple of weeks. Why? Because the Euro 2024 qualifiers are back. Don’t worry, I can assure you that there will be a lot of interesting matches.
For example, Spain, highly favored in Euro Cup Qualifiers betting odds to win Group A, can’t even afford to draw against Scotland, the team atop the standings thanks to a perfect record.
Spain Flawless at Home
Spain is going through a rebuilding process. I mean, no more Sergio Ramos, no more Jordi Alba, no more Sergio Busquets. The good news is that there are plenty of talented players to replace them. The bad news is that they don’t have too much time to adapt. Spain must win.
The new faces are led by Bryan Zaragoza, who’s 22 and scored a brace against Barcelona on Sunday. There’s also Joselu Matos, who has scored five goals for Real Madrid. He also scored last weekend in the 4-0 victory over Osasuna.
If you have a thing for Spain’s national team, I have more good news. La Roja is perfect when playing at home in the EURO 2024 qualifiers. First, they defeated Norway 3-0. Most recently, they crushed Cyprus 6-0.
Now, Scotland is way better than Cyprus, but Spain still is heavily favored in the Euro Cup Qualifiers odds. And they deserve it. Don’t forget that we’re talking about the reigning UEFA Nations League champions.
Scotland Surefire Scorer on the Road
Prior to the start of the EURO 2024 qualifiers, Scotland wasn’t even considered the dark horse to win Group A. Norway was considered the dark horse due to having Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard on the squad.
Well, Scotland already defeated Norway on the road 2-1 with Lyndon Dykes and Kenny McLean as the scorers. They also defeated Cyprus on the road 3-0 with Scott McTominay, Ryan Porteous and John McGinn as the scorers.
Regardless of the result, Scotland managed to score in eight of its last 10 games on the road. Yes, that’s me saying you should bet on “both teams to score in the match – yes.”
In the end, Scotland has nothing to lose and much to win. In fact, a draw would be a great result for the visitors. That’s why I think you will have a tough time finding a more tempting Euro Cup Qualifiers betting underdog, at least for Thursday’s games. Especially at +870, which is the price Scotland is offering to win straight up.
Spain Thirsty for Revenge
As mentioned before, Spain is 3-0-1. That loss (2-0) was against Scotland in March. Scott McTominay was named Player of the Match after scoring both goals. Last Saturday, McTominay led Manchester United to victory with a brace in stoppage time. In other words, you can expect him to be highly motivated.
How about the technique on this, btw? 🤌

Things were completely different the last time these two collided in Spain. La Roja won 3-1. Remember, I told you to include both teams scoring in your betting online ticket? Here’s another reason: Both side scored in eight of their previous 13 meetings.

Soccer Expert Picks for Spain vs Scotland
Spain will get its revenge, but it won’t be easy. As mentioned before, I expect Scotland to score. However, Spain’s attacking unit is just too good. Matos is on fire, Zaragoza is on fire, Alvaro Morata is on fire. Each has scored five goals in the first nine games of La Liga. I like Spain winning 2-1.
Soccer Pick: Scotland +1½ (-115)
