They met for the last time in July. Sporting KC went all the way to Seattle and won 3-1. Johnny Russell, Daniel Salloi and Cameron Duke were the scorers.
Kansas City owns a 6-1-3 record in its last 10 meetings with Seattle. During that span, it scored 19 goals, allowed 12 and finished with a clean sheet three times. The total went over in seven of those games.
Seattle beat Kansas City on the road, for the last time in 2013.
Why Bet on Sporting KC?
You won’t find a team with better results in recent weeks than Sporting KC. That should be enough for you to consider including them in your soccer picks.
Sporting KC lost only one of its last nine domestic games. Most recently, it crushed Minnesota United 4-0 with goals from Khiry Shelton, Daniel Salloi, Johnny Russell and Cameron Duke. That’s the very definition of team effort.
Right now, SKC sits in first place with 46 points thanks to a 13-7-5 record. Only Colorado (four) has lost fewer games. The team has scored 43 goals, more than any other Western Conference team, and allowed 26 goals.
Individually, Salloi is having a wonderful season. He leads the team in scoring with 13 goals. He’s three goals behind Ola Kamara (DC United) in the race for the Golden Boot. He’s also in the MVP conversation.
Kansas City is considerably better when playing at home. It is 7-5-1, 7-6 against the spread and 4-7-2 over/under. It seems the team really believes in the old winning titles formula; win at home and draw on the road.
Felipe Hernandez is out due to injury, but the team hasn’t missed him much. The expected lineup is Tim Melia; Graham Zusi, Llie Sanchez, Andreu Fontas, Luis Martins; Roger Espinoza, Jose Mauri, Cameron Duke; Johnny Russell, Khiry Shelton, Daniel Salloi.
Why Bet on the Seattle Sounders?
If there’s a team capable of ending Sporting KC’s streak, it is the Seattle Sounders. Most recently, the Sounders lost 1-0 to Real Salt Lake, but they were distracted by the Leagues Cup Final. By the way, they lost 3-2 to Leon from the Liga MX.
Now they can fully focus on the MLS. They sit in second place with 45 points thanks to a 13-6-5 record. Keep in mind they’ve played one game less than Kansas City. They also have scored 36 goals and allowed 20. No other in the entire league has allowed fewer goals.
The chemistry between Stefan Frei, Abdoulaye Cissoko, Xavier Arriaga and Nouhou Tolo is enviable. That’s why Seattle owns the best defensive record in the league. The entire team is very disciplined, but those players are the ones everybody follows.
Individually, the Sounders also have an MVP candidate in Raul Ruidiaz. He leads the team in scoring with 14 goals.
Curiously enough, Seattle has lost fewer games on the road than at home. The Sounders are 7-2-2 (6-4-3 at home), 9-2 against the betting online spread and 2-7-2 over/under. If they keep winning on the road like that, first place will be theirs.
Jordy Delem, Jordan Morris and Nicolas Lodeiro are out due to injury, but only Lodeiro will be missed. Their expected lineup is Stefan Frei; Abdoulaye Cissoko, Nouhou Tolo, Xavier Arreaga; Brad Smith; Alex Roldan, Josh Tencio, Danny Leyva; Cristian Roldan, Raul Ruidiaz, Nicolas Benezet.
Final Analysis, Predictions
There’s no doubt that this is the best MLS game scheduled for Sunday. I expect a fast-paced game, in which both will score and the total will go over. With Salloi and Ruidiaz on the field, I expect nothing less than fireworks. I’m sure Seattle learned its lesson from last time and will put up a real fight.
