FA Cup Up for Grabs

Leicester City Comes in as Defending Champions

Buckle up, because the FA Cup is about to get a fast and furious effect. All powerhouses and favorites to dethrone defending champion Leicester City come into play in the third round. When does the third round begin? It’s just around the corner, beginning on Jan. 7.

The reigning champions are offering a very tempting price in the sportsbook, but not enough to be among the favorites.

Favorites to Win FA Cup

Manchester City (+330)

No other team could have been on top of the list. The Citizens are on track to repeat as English Premier League champions. Winning the FA Cup isn’t a priority, but their roster is so talented that they can win it all.

Last season, they reached the semifinals before losing to Chelsea 1-0. The Citizens won the FA Cup for the last time in the 2018-19 season. Winning all three major trophies should be enough motivation for them to go all-in right from the start. They’re also the betting online favorites to win the UEFA Champions League.

Head coach Pep Guardiola is the best when it comes to rotations. That’s why no matter who plays, the Citizens are always a competitive side.

Chelsea (+600)

Chelsea reached the Grand Finale last season. The Blues put up a good fight in a 1-0 loss to Leicester City. Don’t feel bad for them, they ended up winning the UCL.

I believe this season’s team is even better. They signed Romelu Lukaku and Saul Niguez to boost the attacking unit. Defensively, we’re talking about one of the best teams in the EPL. Edouard Mendy has become one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

The Blues last won the FA Cup in the 2017-18 season. However, they played two more Finals over the last five years.

Liverpool (+700)

Liverpool isn’t only among the soccer betting favorites to win the FA Cup, but also the EPL. Head coach Jurgen Klopp has done a great job establishing a winning mentality and they recovered several key players. Among them is Virgil van Dijk, who missed pretty much all last season due to injury.

Offensively, Mohamed Salah is having an awesome year. He deserves to win a Ballon d’Or someday. The Reds’ offensive power is just too much with Salah, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Liverpool last won the FA Cup in the 2005-06 season. They lost the 2011-12 Final to Chelsea. Among the favorites, I think Liverpool is the better choice.

Manchester United (+700)

The Red Devils can thank Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s the main reason for them to be included among the favorites. He’s the team’s top scorer in both the EPL and the UCL. He should be among the FA Cup top scorers as well.

Manchester United also signed Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. Their roster also includes Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, and Edinson Cavani. Nothing to envy City or Liverpool. Their problem is about consistency.

The Red Devils need to take the FA Cup very seriously because it’s their best chance to win some gold. They last won it in the 2015-16 season.

Dark Horses

West Ham United is having a great season, enough to be fighting at the top of the EPL. Head coach David Moyes is very experienced, and this is also their best chance to win some gold. The Hammers are offering a +2000 price. If you were looking for a dark horse to include in your soccer picks, look no further. Michail Antonio is set to shine in the FA Cup.

You might be wondering about Leicester City. The reigning champions are offering a +1400 price. They were eliminated from the UEFA Europa League and the EPL title isn’t an option. Don’t sleep on the Foxes.

Last, but not least, in case you were looking for another dark horse, consider Leeds United. Marcelo Bielsa is one of the best head coaches in the world and the Peacocks are offering a +3300 price. That means your payout per every $100 bet on them would be $3400.
