The English Premier League is back with some great midweek games. Tottenham travels to play Southampton and Watford plays host to struggling West Ham on Tuesday. You can live-bet on the Premier League action by using our sportsbook.
Southampton vs. Tottenham: High-Scoring Affair
We kicked off our Premier League festive period with a great winning parlay at +248 with Tottenham beating Crystal Palace 3-0 on home soil and with Manchester City vs. Leicester combining for nine goals in the most thrilling match of the season, a 6-3 win for the Citizens.
Tottenham’s clash against Crystal Palace on Boxing Day went ahead despite widespread reports it would be cancelled. The Spurs cruised to a 3-0 win over 10-man Crystal Palace thanks to Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min goals.
In his short term at Tottenham, Antonio Conte is unbeaten in six league games, winning four, and has his team running on all cylinders. During this period, Tottenham kept four clean sheets and scored at least twice on five occasions.
The Spurs enter this match at +105 favorites on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds. They are now sitting fifth in the standings with 29 points earned in 16 games, just six points behind the Champions League spots, having three games in hand over fourth-place Arsenal.
They travel to play Southampton on Tuesday and it is easy to get carried away with their impressive performances, but let’s not forget that they played their last five fixtures on home soil.
The Saints are unbeaten in four of their previous five league games, losing just twice at home all season. Both teams produced high-scoring affairs recently, with at least an average of three goals per match in their preceding five fixtures, so we’re expecting goals once again.
At home, Tottenham is a team to watch and use them in our soccer picks and parlays but on the road, we should wait some more games before backing them. Let’s go with the trend and play the goals’ market with the line being set at 2½.
Pick: Over 2½ goals (-115)
Watford vs. West Ham: Value on Visitors
After almost three weeks of break, Watford returns to EPL action at home against West Ham on Tuesday. They lost their previous four games, but they contributed on the scoresheet on all four occasions. They are sitting 17th in the standings, just two points above the red zone, so they are in desperate need of points.
They’ve not kept a clean sheet all season, so we don’t expect them to start now given their rustiness after three weeks without playing a competitive game. They’ve had the opportunity to recover a number of important players affected by both coronavirus and injuries during this period, but it will be very tough for them to bring their A game and pull off the upset.
On the other side, West Ham are winless in its last five games across all competitions, losing four in the process. They are sitting sixth in the table, one point behind Tottenham but they’ve been brilliant on the road this term, recording the league’s fourth-best record with 14 points earned in nine fixtures.
While betting online you should always search for value. Watford has struggled to get going on home soil and given their lack of fitness and poor form, we don’t expect them to claim point/s.
On the other side, West Ham has its best striker, Michail Antonio, back and fully fit. The defensive pair of Zouma and Ogbonna are still not available for the visitors so we believe that Watford will find the back of the net, but we are going for the visitors to return to winning ways and record their first win in four games.
