Tottenham Struggling for Points
After a brief spell in which they were among the top teams in our Premier League title odds, the wheels seem to have fallen off the Tottenham bus and they head into Sunday’s clash looking to end a dreadful run of form.
After taking more points than any previous manager in his first 10 games, Ange Postecoglou’s fall from grace saw him set two undesired records during Thursday’s London derby versus West Ham.
They have now become the first team in Premier League history to go 1-0 up in five successive games but not win any of them, as well as losing three straight home fixtures after breaking the deadlock.
Thursday’s beating also marked the first time since September 2008 that Tottenham had lost three Premier League home games in a row. Spurs fans have to go further back to November 2004 for the last time that their side were beaten four times on the spin at White Hart Lane in the top flight.
While Son Heung-min is on course to be fit, none of Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon, James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ashley Phillips, Eric Dier or Alfie Whiteman will return just yet, although Postecoglou has refused to use his side’s injury crisis as an excuse for their poor form.
Newcastle Out of Form
Newcastle was also on the end of a midweek humbling as a resurgent Everton beat them 3-0 at Goodison Park. However, following big wins over Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United recently, Eddie Howe will feel his side has a good chance to return to winning ways on Sunday.
They are dealing with a significant injury crisis, though, and they have only kept one clean sheet in seven league away games.
The seventh-placed visitors remain firm in the continental conversation, though, and they will overtake Tottenham if they can condemn them to a fourth successive home defeat, which will be easier said than done given their recent record on their travels.
Jamaal Lascelles could not complete the full game at Goodison Park, although Eddie Howe does not believe that his skipper is suffering from anything more serious than a dead leg. Still, Premier League betting fans should expect the visitors to still have absentees in the double figures for their journey south.
Tottenham failed to win their last five games in the league, most recently throwing away a one-goal lead and losing 2-1 to West Ham.
Barring their 8-0 annihilation of Sheffield United, points on the road have been incredibly hard to come by for Newcastle, who have now taken just two from the last 12 on offer away from home in the top flight.
On top of that, Newcastle has shipped nine goals in their last four road games and has only kept one clean sheet in seven league away games.

The hosts enter this clash as favorites, priced at +115 on the three-way moneyline according to our latest Premier League odds, while the goal line is set at three.
Tottenham’s lack of ruthlessness was evident against West Ham and the hosts have a golden opportunity to reignite their attacking fire against hit-by-injuries Newcastle.
The visitors have not traveled well this season but have the necessary weapons to find the back of the net. We expect a high-scoring affair with goals from both sides.
The two sides played out a thriller in the corresponding fixture last term and we expect another entertaining game.
Questions Of The Day
Who are the key players to watch for in Tottenham vs. Newcastle?

It all depends on who will score the first goal of the match. After the first goal the team that will trail will definitely dominate the possession because both teams tend to defend once they go up one goal.
