South Korea remains winless in the Women’s World Cup 2023 but could still advance to the Round of 16. However, according to the soccer odds, their chances aren’t good since they’ll be facing Germany in the last match of Group H. The European side is one of the favorites to win the title and is eager to bounce back after suffering a heartbreaking loss against Colombia.
South Korea: Not Enough
South Korea put up a good fight in its first two matches but failed to record at least one point. First, they lost 2-0 to Colombia. The defensive unit lost focus for nine minutes and Colombia scored twice, once from the penalty spot. Despite losing, South Korea only finished with two fewer shots on goal.
Most recently, they collided with Morocco. That was their best chance to win at least a point but ended up losing 1-0. Ibtissam Jraïdi scored the winner only six minutes into the game. South Korea won possession with 63% but took zero shots on target.
“The reality is we were not good enough in both games. Why that was, we have to analyze in detail. I’m not going to let my emotions take over now, and obviously we’re all very disappointed. The players are much better than they’ve shown in both matches and it really is almost unbelievable that we’ve performed like we have,” said coach Collin Bell during an interview.
He’s not wrong, South Korea isn’t that bad. They finished as the runners-up in the 2022 edition of the Women’s Asian Cup and could be a good soccer betting underdog, especially at +1200.
Germany: Shocked
Even after losing 2-1 to Colombia, Germany remains among the favorites in the soccer lines to win the title at +800. The European side was listed at -400 to defeat Colombia but lost thanks to a goal in the 97th minute.

I hold nothing against South Korea, but I don’t see Germany losing two games in a row. Popp and company will go all-in right from the start since they still have chances of finishing atop the standings, but they need to score as many goals as possible.
