World Cup Winner

The World Cup outrights for the tournament in November have been available for a few months now, and there are some early favorites. Let’s see how the soccer odds have been affected by the official draw.

Brazil, France, and England are still the top three favorites to win the World Cup title. In fourth place was Germany, now usurped by Spain. Brazil and defending champion France are priced at +450 and +550, respectively. They’re followed by England (+550), Spain (+800), Argentina (+900) and Germany, currently at +1100.

Here’s the complete list of World Cup odds.

There are a number of solid groups, for sure, but it was a fairly balanced draw. Brazil doesn’t have any easy games in its group, but there isn’t a world-class team in the mix. Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon will definitely fight for the second position, which will offer them a place in the knockout portion. Assuming the Brazilians win that group, they’d face the Group H second-place team. At the moment, we’d project that to be either Ghana or Uruguay.

France is pretty happy with their draw. Since they’re heavy favorites to win Group D. Didier Deschamps’ troops have drawn together with Denmark and Tunisia in a group completed by the UAE, Australia or Peru. France’s first knockout-phase game is against either Mexico or Poland, which isn’t easy. However, given the solidity and depth of the French squad, it’s winnable.

Semifinalists at the last World Cup and finalists at the Euros, England will be determined to bring their “It’s coming home” chant back into trending. They are expected to have a deep run in the competition, It will be very important for them to win their group to avoid the likes of the Netherlands and even the Africa Cup of Nations winners Senegal.

There isn’t really a clear favorite for the tournament at this time, as the majority of the world’s elite soccer nations all possess squads that are quite serious. France is as good as ever, and they’ve actually added depth since winning the 2018 World Cup. With a perfect marriage of World Cup-winning experience and young superstars in the making, Les Bleus’ conveyer belt of quality is simply breathtaking. A poor Euros campaign means the French must come with a great response, and we expect them to go all the way.

The last seven World Cup editions have seen one of the top four favorites go all the way and lift the trophy. If you’re betting online, it’s time to take advantage of the best prices in the market and take one of the favorites.

World Cup Top Goalscorer

It’s where the fun begins. Before placing a wager on your favorite player to be the leading goalscorer at the 2022 World Cup, check how they performed in the recent season for their clubs and/or countries.

The three favorites are England’s Harry Kane, priced at +700, France’s Kylian Mbappe (+800), and, shockingly, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo (+1200). Why is Ronaldo the third favorite in the wagering? Because he always delivers for Portugal, but their group and bracket aren’t easy.

England has drawn into a relatively favorable group, with USA, Iran, Scotland and Wales, or Ukraine, after they conclude their delayed playoff in June. England and USA should book their Round of 16 tickets, and the bracket is not that complicated for the English. We still don’t expect Kane to win the World Cup Golden Boot, however.

Our selection? Karim Benzema, super striker for Real Madrid and France. He’s a name on everyone’s lips, the best striker in the game, deserving to win a Ballon d’Or this season. He already has 50 goal contributions this season, with 37 goals and 13 assists in just 37 fixtures across all competitions. He’s priced at +1400, and if France goes all the way and wins the trophy, expect him to score at least seven goals, win the Golden Boot, and thus be included in our soccer picks and parlays.

Pick: France to win the World Cup (+550)
