Best Premier League Players for 2024/25 Season

The English Premier League is the best domestic soccer league in the world because six powerhouses fight for the title every season. Since 2000, only one club outside the Big Six has challenged the Premier League odds and won the title.

Do not doubt that having a superstar leading the way makes a difference, and we took on the task of selecting the best players in the league, which wasn’t easy because, again, the EPL is where the big boys play.

Top 5 Best Premier League Players

Cole Palmer – Chelsea

After playing only 22 games in the 2022-23 season, Cole Palmer decided to leave Manchester City and signed for Chelsea. Two seasons later, we can confirm it was a great decision.

The attacking midfielder has become one of the best Premier League players and a certified scorer. In his first season with the Blues, he scored 25 goals and made 15 assists. If you ask me, he should have won the Player of the Season award. Phil Foden got the prize, but I’ll let former player and current analyst Micah Richards explain why Palmer should have won:

“The difference between Palmer and Foden is that Palmer can do it in any team and any position,” said Richards during an interview.

In 2024, Palmer became the first player in the Premier League’s 32-year history to score four goals in the first half of a match. Also, in 2024, he helped England reach the European Championship final. He even scored in the Grand Finale, but the Three Lions lost to Spain.

The best part is that Palmer is only 22. That means he still has plenty of gas in the tank to amaze the soccer sphere.

Phil Foden – Manchester City

Of course, we had to continue with Phil Foden, who won the Player of the Season award in 2023-24 after scoring 19 goals. Foden was crucial for Manchester City to win its fourth consecutive EPL title, something no other team has done.

Since the 2020-21 season, Foden has scored at least 14 goals each season. Remember, he’s a midfielder/winger whose top priority is to create chances for others. Even so, only Erling Haaland scores more than him in the Citizens.

Foden’s strengths go from mental agility to a fantastic left foot for long-distance shots, and he’s 24, which means his prime is still to come.

Having skillful players like Foden makes Manchester City a Premier League betting favorite to win the title every season. Without Foden, the historic 2022-23 season, in which the Citizens won the EPL, the Champions League, and the FA Cup, wouldn’t have been possible.

Foden played in the 2022 World Cup and 2024 EURO with England but hasn’t been able to win any silverware with the Three Lions.

Son Heung-Min – Tottenham

For years, Tottenham was known as Harry Kane’s team, but we all know there’s no Batman without Robin. Kane must be grateful to Son Heung-Min, his wingman for several seasons and now the team’s leader.

The South Korean landed in London for the 2015-16 campaign. Since then, he has scored 14+ goals for eight consecutive seasons and has been crowned the best South Korean player six times.

In 2020, Son won the Puskas Award, granted to the player who scored the best goal globally. Later, In 2022, Son won the Premier League Golden Boot. In other words, we are talking about an artist who’s also a striker and certified scorer.

Son topped the Premier League news at the beginning of 2025 after signing an extension with the Spurs. Now, his contract will run until the summer of 2026.

Erling Haaland – Manchester City

Many legendary strikers cemented their legacy thanks to the English Premier League: Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba, Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Fernando Torres, to name a few.

Erling Haaland is on its way to that list thanks to a record-breaking performance in his debut season with Manchester City. In his first campaign with the Citizens, Haaland scored 36 goals in 35 Premier League matches. He also scored 12 goals in the Champions League.

Individual success turned into team success because the Citizens won the treble, and Haaland was a key player for it, enough to be considered by many the Ballon d’Or. However, Lionel Messi won the award that season after winning the 2022 World Cup with Argentina.

Nowadays, there’s no scorer like Haaland, who has scored 24+ goals each season since 2020-21. And don’t say it’s because he plays for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City. Haaland has been a certified scorer since he played for much more modest teams like RB Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund.

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool

If Erling Haaland is the best striker on the planet, Mohamed Salah is the best winger. The Pharaoh returned from the ashes after not meeting expectations at Chelsea, Fiorentina, or AS Roma.

He found enough minutes, confidence, and freedom at Liverpool to unleash his full potential. Since the 2017-18 season, he has scored 17+ goals each campaign, including the 2024-25. He also finished with 10+ assists in seven of the last eight seasons.

Without Salah, Liverpool wouldn’t have regained the powerhouse status. In 2019, the Pharaoh led the Reds to the UCL title and the EPL crown in 2020. Since then, the Reds have consistently topped the Premier League predictions alongside Manchester City.

Individually, Salah won the EPL Player of the Season and Golden Boot in 2022. To this day, Salah not finishing in the top three of the Ballon d’Or race in the last five seasons is inexplicable, but that doesn’t change the fact that he is elite.
