Surprise Choice! Bayern Munich Names Vincent Kompany as New Coach

Bayern Munich has signed Vincent Kompany as the new coach to a three-year contract, a strange decision from the Bavarian giants.

A search for a coach had been going on for months ever since it became clear that Thomas Tuchel would leave at the end of the season after 19 underwhelming months, featuring major losses in the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal, and the Champions League.

The Belgian led Burnley from the EFL Championship to the Premier League but witnessed the relegation back to the Championship after only one season in England’s top flight.

Hansi Flick Takes Barcelona’s Helm After Xavi’s Departure

Hansi Flick has been confirmed as the new coach of Barcelona, after the sacking of Xavi Hernandez. The former Bayern Munich manager joins on a two-year deal.

The 59-year-old had been out of work since his sacking as Germany’s coach in September last year. Barcelona described Flick as a manager known for his intense, ambitious high press, with great experience at club and international level.

Can Maresca Deliver? Chelsea Takes Gamble on Young Manager

Chelsea has reached an agreement to make Enzo Maresca their new head coach, and he’s now set to replace Mauricio Pochettino on a long-term contract. The Blues will also have the option to extend Maresca’s stay by an extra year, which means he could potentially be in the Stamford Bridge dugout until 2030.

Leicester is set to be paid a compensation fee by Chelsea as they bid farewell to Maresca after just one season, which saw the Italian mastermind their immediate return to the Premier League as Championship winners. Maresca had previously worked as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City and stuck to a similar tactical blueprint to his old mentor with the Foxes.

Motta, Mourinho, Conte All Heading Elsewhere

Thiago Motta is set to be appointed as the new Juventus coach, and according to reports in Italy, the ex-Italy international will sign a contract with the Serie A giants next week. Motta has just led Bologna to a historic Champions League placement, but his contract at the Dall’Ara was due to expire in June, and he informed the club last week that he would not extend it.

Jose Mourinho is set to agree a two-year deal with Fenerbahce, according to multiple reports. The Portuguese manager will start a new chapter of his career in the Turkish Super Lig where he will coach in his first experience outside one of the five major European leagues since he left Porto in 2004.

Napoli is in advanced talks with Antonio Conte to become their new head coach. De Laurentiis said earlier this week that the next ten days would be decisive, but multiple reports claim the Italian tactician already has an agreement in principle

According to the report, Conte has been promised a $250m transfer budget, which probably includes the $140m Napoli plans to get from Victor Osimhen’s sale.

Kylian Mbappe This Close to Join Dream Team Real Madrid

The France forward remains contracted to the Ligue 1 champions until June 30, but Madrid plans on unveiling him as their player before then.

However, the capital club’s full attention is on the Champions League final this Saturday, meaning the agreement with Kylian Mbappe will not be announced this week.

Madrid have long been chasing the signing of the 25-year-old attacker and his move to the Spanish capital has been imminent since it was confirmed earlier this year that he would be leaving PSG at the end of the season after his contract expires.

Lautaro Martinez has decided to accept a new long-term contract with Inter, extending his stay to June 2029.

The 26-year-old Argentinian striker played a leading role in the Nerazzurri’s historic charge to their 20th Scudetto under Simone Inzaghi this campaign, scoring 24 goals and providing six assists across 33 league matches, earning him the Serie A MVP title for the 2023-24 season.

Serie A giants Juventus have formulated their first offer for Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners, who is keen interest to the Bianconeri.

Koopmeiners has impressed a lot this season, attracting interest from Juve and the Premier League. After weeks of talk, it seems as if Juve is ready to present their offer for the Netherlands international. Will this move make Juventus a betting favorite next season? Only time will tell.
