Liverpool: Toughest Schedule of All

Liverpool was the big winner of the Easter weekend, and the Reds are now the online betting favorites to win the Premier League title.

They came from behind to beat Brighton 2-1 at Anfield on Sunday, with Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah combining to secure a fourth win in the last five league outings.

Sunday’s results mean Liverpool are now firmly in the box seat to lift the Premier League trophy and deliver a fairytale finale to Jurgen Klopp’s nine-year spell at Anfield.

The next few weeks might be full of challenges for Liverpool, who have to play each of the teams ranked from fourth to seventh. A visit to Villa Park on the penultimate day of the campaign could also prove crucial, particularly as it comes a week after Liverpool host Tottenham.

The three title contenders will not meet again this season, but their respective run-ins are remarkably balanced. The Reds are now favorites to lift the trophy being priced at +120 according to the latest soccer odds.

Man City, Arsenal Drop Points Following Draw

Arsenal held off Manchester City as they earned their first point at the Etihad Stadium since 2016, having played out a 0-0 draw.

In a game that was tipped as Arsenal’s biggest of the season, the Gunners’ desperation to avoid conceding early was clear and this objective was realized thanks to excellent defending from the whole side, which absorbed the early pressure from the hosts.

This result marks Manchester City’s first goalless draw in the Premier League since March 2022, ending their run of 75 consecutive league games without any being goalless.

It also marks the first 0-0 draw between these two sides since January 2011, ending a streak of 33 straight meetings between them in all competitions that saw at least one goal scored.

The result sees Liverpool go top of the Premier League, meaning that both Arsenal and Manchester City will be relying on the Reds dropping points now, but it is a far better result for the Gunners than a loss would have been.

We will continue to include Man City and Arsenal in our soccer picks and parlays for the reminder of the season.

Champions League Spots, European Places 2023-24

The big news in 2023/24 is that there’s a scenario in which the Premier League could see the top five teams all qualify for the UEFA Champions League if England finishes as one of the top two performing nations in European club cup competitions.

If the FA Cup winner or Carabao Cup winner finishes in the top four, the European cup berth that accompanies that title would go to the next team in the Premier League standings not already qualified for Europe.

Fifth-placed Tottenham might take advantage of this new rule and play in the Champions League next season.

The relegation fight is getting complicated

The top-flight relegation battle has intensified in recent weeks, with Burnley’s three-game unbeaten run and back-to-back draws for Sheffield United giving both teams a glimmer of hope in their fight for survival.

Nottingham Forest and Everton remain in trouble after points deductions for breaching profit and sustainability rules, while Luton continues to upset the Las Vegas odds by remaining in the mix.

Nottingham Forest’s four-point deduction has left them level on points with 18th-place Luton and only out of the bottom three on goal difference.

While Forest has received their punishment, any appeal could complicate matters for them. Bottom-placed Sheffield United will probably go down as they are sitting seven points behind the first salvation spot.
