An excellent online betting opportunity awaits on Saturday as Golden Boy Promotions and Matchroom Boxing will showcase a handful of fights at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. These fights will also be streamed live via DAZN.
The main event will be an exhilarating showdown as Ryan Garcia battles Luke Campbell for the WBC interim lightweight title. To add to the intensity, the winner will become the next mandatory challenger for the WBC lightweight title, which is currently being held by Devin Haney.
Betting Preview
It is no secret that Garcia steps into the matchup as a hefty betting favorite. The unbeaten 22-year-old is quite familiar with being a favorite on online betting sites.
In fact, it has been several years since the last time Garcia was close to an even line, let alone an underdog entering a fight.
Contrary to the last four years, Campbell has seen similar action as the betting favorite for most of his fights. This fight will mark the third time that Campbell has become the underdog in that time frame.
Campbell returns to the ring after his unanimous decision loss to Vasyl Lomachenko back in August of 2019. This marked the third loss of his professional career, but all three have been by decision.
Campbell has a long list of accomplishments on his resume, including a 2012 Olympic gold medal. However, he has not yet been able to obtain a world championship.
In his last attempt at a world title shot, he was up against Jorge Linares but came up short and lost by a split decision.
The betting market has had mixed feelings on the boxing odds when they look deeper into Garcia’s resume. He has not fought anyone near the same level as Campbell.
To give him credit, his most dominant win was arguably his first-round knockout against Romero Duno. Another notable victory was when Garcia was also able to step into the ring against Francisco Fonseca 11 months ago and win that fight within 80 seconds.
Odds For This Event
The market has had mixed feelings about both fighters. For the moneyline, BetUS Sportsbook has the odds currently sitting at:
- Garcia: -400
- Campbell: +300

Betting Prediction
Campbell cannot be ignored because of his experience. To give some credit, he is careful in his approach and not as reckless in trying to land hits.
Campbell has a southpaw stance that could cause some issues when he needs to come in close. Garcia has a ridiculously dangerous left hook that has put many opponents to sleep and could definitely do the same to Campbell.
Campbell will need to take this fight deep into 12 rounds or so. Campbell has a moderate chance at winning if he can limit Garcia’s left hook just like Morales did to him back in 2018.
Campbell has been able to go the full 12 rounds in three of his last five fights. Arguably, the longer the fight goes, the better it favors Campbell.
However, Garcia is a real threat despite some of the weaker opponents on his resume. This will not be an early knockout but still a great long-distance fight. This will set up Garcia well with a title shot against Haney in 2021.
Garcia is on track to become a star, and this fight is the first step in doing so. After that, of course, is the Haney fight. When making your boxing picks, Garcia is the one to go with.
