Saturday is loaded with college basketball games, which include plenty of room for online sports betting. Over a dozen Top, 25 teams are playing. This is as good as it gets until NCAA March Madness or the conference tournaments.
While most of these Top 25 teams are in fun matchups like (7) Michigan taking on (23) Minnesota or (14) Illinois against (21) Ohio State, I went with three matchups that were easier to pick from betting picks perspective.
I took these matchups and parlayed them together for a weekend edition of our best college basketball betting parlay.
(8) Creighton Bluejays vs Butler Bulldogs
The Bluejays and Bulldogs face off in a classic Big East tilt. Creighton is 6-1 in the conference and 10-2 overall. The Bluejays have won six in a row. The Bulldogs are 2-5 in the conference and 3-7 overall. All of their wins have come at home, though they are 1-6 as an underdog.
This is a tailor-made matchup for the Bluejays, who are one of the best offensive teams in the nation. Creighton scores 83.2 points per game (21st) and hits 49.6 percent of their jumpers. Meanwhile, Butler struggles to produce offense consistently. Their 63 points per outing is good for 323rd overall.
Creighton will dictate the flow of this game and they will score at will against Butler, who is also lacking in terms of perimeter defense. The game may start close but Creighton will gradually pull away en route to a blowout.
Pick: Creighton Bluejays to win and cover
(2) Baylor Bears vs (15) Texas Tech Red Raiders
A feature matchup has Big 12 powers locking horns. Baylor looks to remain undefeated (11-0, 4-0l) against the Red Raiders (11-3, 4-2), who are flying high after upsetting Texas. .
Hopefully, Baylor gets a bit of luck this time and this game progresses per usual unlike Thursday’s game against #13 West Virginia (postponed by COVID). With extra rest, the Bears have more reason to fire up the fifth-best offense in the nation including the third-best 3-point percentage.
Baylor will be running into a Texas Tech team that is more tested. The Bears have only faced one ranked opponent (Illinois) while TTU has faced and lost to a handful, save for Texas who they came from behind to upset.
Although rest is usually good, it could be a downside for the Bears here. UTT has momentum and is more battle-tested and has the 13th-ranked defense allowing only 59 points per contest on 39.2 percent shooting. Baylor should still prevail based on the disparity in talent, but I like UTT to at least beat the spread.
Pick: Texas Tech to cover
Kansas State Wildcats vs (4) Texas Longhorns
Saving the best for last, the fourth-ranked Texas Longhorns are out to redeem themselves following a late loss against Texas Tech on Wednesday. Texas is 4-1 in the conference and 10-2 overall going against the KSU Wildcats who are just 1-4 in the conference and 5-8 overall.
As records suggest, this should be an easy game for the Longhorns and the poor Wildcats are going to be a rebound for Texas. Speaking of, the Longhorns average nearly 41 boards a game compared to KSU’s 31.
Add the fact that KSU is one of the worst shooting teams in the Division-I, are 1-5 as an underdog, and are losing several players due to COVID or injuries. The spread for Texas will be big but they should cover just fine.
Pick: Texas Longhorns to win and cover
Parlay: Creighton to cover (-110), Texas Tech to cover (-110), and Texas Longhorns (-110) to cover at +596
You can go crazy with all the college basketball picks available for this weekend. But as a rule of thumb, bet on teams that play good basketball and we’ve got three right here.
Creighton is the anchor to this parlay as they get a favorable matchup against Butler. They should win and cover with no problem. Up next, the Longhorns also get a nice and easy game against the lowly Wildcats. That should be a blowout.
The parlay hinges on Texas Tech to make things interesting with Baylor. The Red Raiders have consistently lost against ranked teams and are only 6-8 ATS this season, but they have extra swag from upsetting Texas and have the defense to give the potentially lethargic Bears a run.
