The mandatory stay-at-home orders around the world have brought more attention to lesser mainstream sports. With all major sports postponed for the time being, we turn our attention to a few of the remote darts tournaments being live-streamed around the world.
I can’t make you a master darts handicapper in an article, but I will give you a heads-up at what’s on the board. Read below to learn more about A Night at the Darts, Czech Premier League Darts, and the PDC Home Tour.
A Night at The Darts
A Night at the Darts is a round robin darts tournament launched in April 2020. This tournament will feature 12 players live streaming themselves as the play while in isolation.
This is the first iteration of the tournament, which began in early April. A Night at the Darts 2020 is a companion to MODUS the Icons of Darts Live League. The tournament will conclue this Saturday, May 2nd.
MODUS represents many of the world’s leading darts players and hosts events. You can compare them to the UFC model which hosts events and in some rare occasions sponsors fighters.
These are the players competing in the tournament: Raymond van Barneveld, Phil Taylor, Martin Adams, Wessel Nijman, David Evans, Ritchie Edhouse, Scott Mitchell, Jason Askew, Fallon Sherrock, Boris Koltsov, Mike Warburton and Kyle McKinstry.

Czech Premier League Darts
The Czech Premier League Darts also known as Tipsport Premier League is a darts tournament consisting of only players from the Czech Republic. The tournament was organized by the PDC.
The tournament is expected to run from April 7 – May 28. Ten contestants will be playing 16 rounds of darts while livestreaming from their own homes. There will be three phases to the Premier League Darts:
Phase 1: Ten players will compete during nine rounds. Matches have a maximum of eleven legs. The first player to win six legs wins. The bottom two players at the end of the phase will be eliminated.
Phase 2: The eight remaining players will play seven rounds of darts. Matches have a maximum of thirteen legs. The target to advance to the next round is seven legs. The bottom four players are eliminated from the tournament. The top four players table qualify for the playoff.
Playoff: The top four competitors play two knockout semi-finals. The top seed is matched up against the bottom seed. #2 and #3 seeds face off. The first to win 10 legs (best of 19) will advance to the final where they will also play a best of 19.
There is no prize money for the players. Instead, Tipsport will donate 500 CZK for every 180 thrown that will be used to purchase PPE used to combat COVID-19.
BetUS offers matchup odds on all throughout the tournament.
2020 PDC Home Tour
The 2020 PDC Home Tour, also known as the 2020 Unibet Home Tour is another darts tournament organized by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). The tournament began on April 17, with the final stage set to begin on May 19.
The tournament was open to all players who had a PDC Tour Card in 2020.
Each match will be a best of 9 legs match. The winner of each match receives two points on the table. The leg difference will be used to determine a winner should their be a tie at the end of the matches. If that does not determine a winner, the result between the two players is taken into account. If there’s a three-way tie for first place, the overall average of the players will be taken into account.
Scotland’s Peter Wright has the highest prize winnings of the 2020 PDC Tour Card entrants with over $1.1M earned.
