If you think about Hawaii it is hard not to think of oceans, palm trees, beaches and golf betting, because it is PGA Tour time! That is right, golf betting, because BetUS has tournament odds to win, matchups, props and what the other online sportsbooks don’t have, Live Golf Betting!
The PGA Tour started the New Year with their Sentry Tournament of Champions in Kapalua. Harris English won on the first playoff hole against Joaquin Niemann last week. The Sony Open this week is played at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii and will be the first full field in the 2021 PGA Tour season with 144 players.
These early season PGA events in Hawaii tend to have many of the same players doing well each year, so that will be one focus along with current form and the strokes gained statistics.
Cameron Smith – 26/1
Smith is the defending champion at the Sony Open at Waialae, and you shouldn’t look past him for your golf bets this year either. That was Cameron’ second victory on the PGA Tour, and he came back from two strokes behind with two holes left to force and win a playoff on the first hole.
He had finished in the top 30 at Waialae three years in a row before he won last year. Smith is consistent enough here to bet in Sony Open matchups also. He finished in a tie for 24th at Kapalua last week, and closed 2020 strong and trending up. His sportsbook betting odds at 26/1 make for a great return and opens the door to make some golf bets on Top 10 or Top 20 golf props also.
You have probably already heard about Cameron’s Masters finish, but it’s worth mentioning and taking into consideration here. He finished as a runner up to Dustin Johnson, who won going away. His consistency at Augusta National for The Masters was unmatched shooting all four rounds in the 60s. That is something very special that shows an upside most don’t have.
Joaquin Niemann – 20/1
This young kid has been lighting it up for over a year, and he may be worth betting every week until he wins again, which won’t be long. He almost won last week with four rounds in the 60s and closing with a 64 to tie Harris English. Niemann lost in a playoff, but this young man from Chile is on fire!!
The PGA Tour strokes gained statistic is one that is always helpful handicapping these golf bets, and he is near the top in many crucial categories this year. Neimann is ranked in the top 20 in both strokes gained off-the-tee and tee to green. He is ranked ninth in total strokes gained which puts him in the ‘just a matter of time’ category for his second PGA win.
Ryan Palmer – 29/1
Palmer won at the Waialae Country Club in 2010 and has finished in the top 20 four times since then. That includes last year when he tied for fourth place, which is what his finish was solo in the Sentry Tournament of Champions last week.
In the statistical categories this year, Ryan is ranked in the top 40 in strokes gained: off-the-tee, approach the green, tee-to-green and total strokes gained. That shows his form is there, and the golf odds are a great bargain for what you are getting by betting Palmer in all betting options.
Webb Simpson – 10/1
Simpson is the favorite at BetUS and is a consistent top finisher at Waialae and getting closer to a win each year. He has seven top 20 finishes here, and the last two years he finished in a tie for fourth and solo third last year.
Simpson played well enough in the Sentry Tournament of Champions last week at Kapalua to finish in 17th place, and he demonstrated that his form is in great shape. His odds to win the tournament are a little lower than the other golfers, but it would be a good idea to at least bet him in golf matchups and some props.

After all your sportsbook betting is done before the tournament begins, you can play off of how the golfers are doing after each round and even during every round. BetUS offers live betting on all major sports but the difference is they offer it for golf wagers also.
Even if you wanted to wait a round or two, you will have plenty of time to make all your bets on golf well after they tee off. This is for all the PGA Tour events, and it is graded and paid in real time!
