The Waste Management Phoenix Open is known as “The Greatest Show on Grass” and is by far the biggest party with the loudest spectators having the most fun of any PGA Tour event, and that usually comes into play when making and betting Phoenix Open Golf Picks.
Phoenix Open Preview
The noise and crowd factor is something that can rattle some players in a tournament that breaks records almost every year with more than 200,000 people there on some days. Fans will be disappointed in this pandemic year with the event only allowing 5,000 people a day, so bets made will rely less on a golfer’s nerves and more on the online sportsbook odds.
It won’t be the same with 195,000 fewer people there, but those 5,000 will be the loudest drunkest fans you have seen on a golf course. You can see this infamous hole in action with crazed fans and beer cups flying in Tiger Woods’ hole-in-one video here at 21 years old.
TPC Scottsdale is known for that same notorious par-3 that golfers on the PGA Tour come to love or hate depending on their shot, because the fans definitely let you know! This is the only golf hole on the PGA Tour that is totally enclosed and it has earned the nickname, “The Coliseum.” That sounds like a place to bet Super Bowl odds & Phoenix Open in the same week.
The TPC Scottsdale is 7,261 yards long with a par of 71, and golfers can light it up. The advantage is a big one for the bombers off the tee that can keep it in play like Rory McIlroy, Tony Finau, and Jon Rahm. There are others, but if they’re not on this Golf Picks list then…
Golf Betting Recap
Last Week’s The Farmers Insurance Open Golf Odds Review and Golf Picks Results
Rory McIlroy (15/2) – Tie 16th Place.
Xander Schauffele (10/1) – Tie 2nd Place.
Jason Day (35/1) – Missed Cut.
Bubba Watson (35/1) – Missed Cut.
In last week’s Farmers Insurance Open, our longshot golf bets didn’t do well, but we are always looking for the value based on golf odds and will keep them coming until they hit … and they will!
On the upside, after missing the cut in four of five times playing at Torrey Pines, Schauffele defied what other golf handicappers predicted and did well in his golf matchups and golf props for Top 5 and Top 10 among others.
Now for the present-day winners in life and golf betting, here are the Phoenix Open Golf Picks!
Picks
Webb Simpson
13/1 Golf Odds to Win at BetUS.
Since Simpson is the defending champion he immediately becomes a person of interest to at least research his odds and current form for a possible bet. He did well in multiple parts of his game last year finishing top 10 in proximity to the hole, fairways hit, strokes gained tee to green, greens in regulation, and par-four scoring, which he was tops.
That was Simpson’s first win at TPC Scottsdale but he has been steady Webby in matchups and other prop bets. At the Phoenix Open, he has ended up in the top 10 five of the 10 times played which is phenomenal. A couple of great prop bets to play is for him to finish in the top five which pays +290 and top 10 which is even-money at BetUS.
Daniel Berger
18/1 to win, 15/4 to finish in top five, 17/10 to finish top 10.
Berger is one pick that was recommended here and bet multiple times in this last PGA Tour season. His bets paid off great in matchups with top-five and top 10 finishes multiple times last year. He has a successful history at TPC Scottsdale ending up in ninth place last year and was in the top 12 in four of his six Phoenix Open appearances.
He should be nice and rested after his vacation to Hawaii. Oh yeah, Berger had time to play the two PGA events there in between Mai Tais and Leis. He ended up paying off prop bets to finish top 10 in both tournaments. He should be good to go for another top 10 finish at worst. He is one of a handful with skills to win a major .. Soon!
Sam Burns
65/1 Golf Odds to Win, Finish in Top Ten – 13/2.
Here is your longshot bargain for one of your betting picks, because Burns is on a trajectory straight up with his skills and maturity. This is a young golfer that is on the bet sheet every week for a few bucks, because it would not be a surprise at all to see this future superstar win!
He missed the cut in the Phoenix Open the last two years because his second rounds were both bad. His maturity is paying off already and you don’t want to miss this cash boat. When you get golf odds this high for a top 10 finish on Burns you better get it now, because tomorrow word will be out on Burns (and I’m not talking about Homer Simpson’s boss!)
Rory McIlroy
10/1 Golf Odds to Win at BetUS.
This is an extra throw in for you since I had Rory last week, but getting 10 times your golf bet amount on a win sounds like a no-brainer until he wins. This is his first time playing at TPC Scottsdale, a course that fits right into his game.
Golfers that can hit it long and straight is the recipe this week, and if Rory is your pick and it should be, bet odds to win! Last week at Torrey Pines he was sixth in strokes gained tee to green and second in strokes gained off the tee. If he can make two putts over four feet, he should win.
Don’t forget to bet golf props at BetUS. That is one of your best bets with top 10 finishes and golf matchups to name a couple of ways to win. Once the Waste Management Phoenix Open starts, you are still all set because BetUS has Live Betting every week on every round for PGA Tour events. More ways to win, so now you just gotta Bet On It Baby!!
