March Madness Selection Sunday Picks

The 2011 NCAA College Basketball National Championship Tournament is set to get underway with its first round action beginning on March 15, live from University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, OH.

But before the annual collegiate hardwood championship chase gets underway, BetUS college basketball bettors will get to enjoy the perennial Selection Sunday process of picking the tournament’s participants – and this year’s Selection Sunday, which will be held on March 13 at 6:00 PM ET on CBS, figures to be a doozy with a multitude of deserving ballclubs either resting on – or just outside – of the proverbial ‘bubble’.

Still, thanks to the expert college basketball handicappers at BetUS, enjoying Selection Sunday will be more like a walk in the park than a nail-biting, late-afternoon exercise.

First and foremost, several conference tournament championships will end on Selection Sunday, leaving numerous automatic tournament berths up in the air until their completion.

While there have been some change to this year’s NCAA Tournament, one thing that hasn’t changed is the fact that the total number of automatic tournament berths has not changed from the 31 they’ve been at for several years now.

30 of the 31 overall automatic tournament berths will go to the winner’s of their respective conference tournaments while the winner of the Ivy League regular season title also gets an automatic berth.

One change that college basketball betting enthusiasts will see this year is the addition of three at-large bids, with the NCAA Tournament scrapping its former ‘play-in’ game and expanding to its new ‘First Four’ format that gives an additional two teams a chance to make some noise in the big dance.

Once Selection Sunday is completed – NCAA Tournament betting will be in full effect in the value-packed BetUS college basketball sportsbook
