It’s do-or-die time for the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night. Game 6 of the 2020 World Series has arrived, and the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays will mix it up.
The Dodgers lead the series 3-2 after their 4-2 win on Sunday night. Looking at the MLB betting odds, the Dodgers come into the game as favorites once again. The Dodgers are listed at -140 over the Rays, with the total set at eight runs.
Los Angeles Want Runs, Runs, Runs
The Dodgers have scored four or more runs in all five games, as well as six straight postseason games. During the World Series, the Dodgers are averaging just shy of six runs per game.
The Dodgers would love a slugfest and feel they have the bats to beat the Rays if that is the case. Los Angeles has several players that have been outstanding throughout the postseason.
No one on the Dodgers roster is hotter than Corey Seager. The slugger added another hit and RBI in the Game 5 win.
Seager is likely in line for the Most Valuable Player of the World Series. This would come after winning the MVP award in the NLCS. Seager has eight hits in five games, including two home runs.
Mookie Betts started the series hot with two hits in the opener but has just three in the last four games since. The Dodgers acquiring him in the offseason was the biggest MLB news at the time, and he could make some more in Game 6 with a good performance.
Tony Gonsolin, the 26-year-old right-hander, is getting the start for the Dodgers. This is just his second season in Major League Baseball after attending college at Saint Mary’s.
Gonsolin retired just four Rays in the Game 2 loss. Look for Dustin May to get plenty of time in this game as he will likely be the one Dave Roberts turns to out of the bullpen.
Snell Looks to be Stopper
Blake Snell gets the task of being the stopper and sending this series to Game 7. Snell, a former Cy Young winner, was really good in Game 2, striking out nine Dodgers.
Snell will look to keep the tough left-handed hitters the Dodgers trot out there at bay and limit the damage for the right-handers. How long Snell can go is a big question, but do not be surprised if he approaches double-digit strikeouts by the time it’s all said and done.
Randy Arozarena is going to need some help in the lineup for the Rays. The slugger has six hits in five games for the Rays and scored the winning run in Game 4.
His help is going to have to come in the form of Brandon Lowe, Willy Adames, Joey Wendle or even Manuel Margot. Lowe has been pretty hit or miss. After two home runs in Game 2, he has just one hit in the next three games.
Willy Adames, the 25-year-old shortstop from the Dominican Republic, also has struggled through most of the series, with three hits in 17 at-bats.
Dodgers Close Out Rays
It will be interesting to see how Roberts and Kevin Cash handle this one. Gonsolin, for sure, will have the short hook, while Snell could go a decent distance. Remember, he was really good in Game 2.
If the game is close, the pressure is going to be on the Tampa Bay hitters. It will be close, and the team that strikes out less will probably win this game.
For the first time since 1988, the Dodgers are going to win the World Series. When making your MLB picks, betting the Los Angeles Dodgers -140 is the bet to make on Tuesday night.
