NASCAR’s elite get together in Kansas City, Mo, on Sunday for the Hollywood Casino 400. This is the seventh out of 10 races as part of the Cup Series playoffs.
This is the opening race of the Round of 8 and will be aired on NBC. This race started in 2001 with Jeff Gordon winning in back-to-back years.
Denny Hamlin looks to take down the title in back-to-back seasons. Let’s take a look at the betting odds to win the Hollywood Casino 400.
Kevin Harvick +375
The only two-time champion at Kansas City is one of the co-favorites. The 2013 and ’16 winner comes into this race even with Hamlin at +375.
The 44-year-old is coming off an 11th-place finish last weekend. Many wonder if he is coasting as we round out the end of this phase of the playoffs, with three straight trips outside the Top 10.
On the year, Harvick has nine wins and 19 finishes in the top five. There is a good chance we will see Harvick back in the mix to win this race in Kansas City.
Denny Hamlin +375
Driving the No. 11 FedEx car, the 2019 winner is out for more blood in Kansas City. Hamlin knows he is going to have his hands full.
Hamlin has been sensational. Soon to be 40 in November, Hamlin has taken down seven wins in 32 starts.
His second-place ranking on the tour is behind only Harvick. Hamlin is the co-favorite, listed at +375.
Chase Elliott +450
The No. 9 Unifirst car has some unfinished business. Elliott wanted the back-to-back titles last season but was upended by Hamlin here.
The 2018 winner will look to keep his momentum going after he won the race at Charlotte Roval. That marks four Top 10 finishes in the last five weeks. Elliott ranks fourth with three wins.
Martin Truex Jr. +500
The 2017 winner will be boasting the Bass Pro Shops car. As a member of the Joe Gibbs Racing team, there is no doubt there is a plan of attack for this track in Kansas City.
The 40-year-old Truex is sixth with 13 top-five finishes. What has set him back is he has one win.
He is coming off a seventh-place finish. He started the race seventh as well.
Brad Keselowski +750
Keselowski is the only driver in the top five betting odds who has never won at Kansas City. The 36-year-old has had a great season, ranking third in the Cup series.
His last race was in Charlotte, where he did not fare all that great. He has back-to-back 18th-place finishes.
It’s time for him to rebound and get back to the status that saw him take down four races and finish in the top five 10 times. Keselowski is +750 to win but it’s hard to count out the No. 2 Discount Tire car!
This race should be another thriller. There are some incredible drivers that continue to put on show after show.
We hope this provides some wisdom as you look to bet on the Hollywood Casino 400. Best of luck and enjoy!
