The next in a series of NASCAR playoff races is the Bank of America Roval 400. This race will take place this weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Concord, NC, is the location, which is just outside of Charlotte.
This is the same speedway that hosts the Coca-Cola 600 that is held on Memorial Day weekend. This is a 500-mile race using a regular oval course. Let’s take a look at betting odds in our Bank of America ROVAL 400 Betting Preview:
Chase Elliott +200
Elliott is the defending champion at this event. He ranks fourth in points this season and has won two events on the tour. Last weekend at Talladega, he came away with a fifth-place finish.
Elliott certainly knows this track about as well as any he has been at. That is what sets him apart from the rest, and why he is the big betting favorite. The No. 9 Chevrolet car sits at +200 to win the Bank of America ROVAL event.
Kevin Harvick +600
Harvick also has great memories of Charlotte, but that came back in 2014. The Mobil-1 No. 4 car has been outstanding this season, ranking third on the tour.
Harvick is coming off back-to-back poor performances at Talladega and Las Vegas. He finished 20th last week and 10th the previous week. But, there has been plenty of success for him in 2020, as he has won nine events and been inside the top five 19 times.
Martin Truex Jr. +650
Another former winner at Charlotte is Martin Truex Jr. The 40-year-old came away with the win back during the 2017 season. Truex Jr. will be noticeable as you can hardly miss his Bass Pro Shops No. 19 car.
Truex Jr. has won just one event this season. He is hoping to bounce back following his disappointing 23rd-place finish last week. There is not a ton of movement for him in the standings, but at sixth, he could possibly still sneak into the top five with some big finishes late in the season.
Denny Hamlin +650
Hamlin is the lone guy on this list that has yet to win this race in the past. But, Hamlin knows how to win.
Hamlin certainly knows how to win in 2020. He has seven wins on the season, including a big one last weekend. He ranks first on the tour with those seven wins, 17 top five finishes and 19 finishes in the Top 10.
Hamlin drives the No. 11 car and will be racing with the Joe Gibbs Racing team. Many feel it’s his time, but not being a previous winner sets him back a little, which is why he is listed at +650.
Ryan Blaney +900
Team Penske saw Blaney win this event back in 2018. They certainly would like a repeat of that, as it has not been the best of years for Blaney.
He is 13th in the standings right now and has picked up just one win, with eight top five finishes. That sounds solid, but it is disappointing for a guy that many projected to stay inside the Top 10.
There is time to turn things around, and a win at Charlotte would certainly ignite that. Blaney is listed at +900 to win this event.
As we mentioned earlier, this should be a great race. North Carolina is always a great place for big NASCAR races.
