NBA Game of the Week: Los Angeles Lakers at Milwaukee Bucks

The National Basketball Association will deliver some terrific games on Christmas Day, but the week before Christmas isn't too bad either. The Los Angeles Lakers will be in Milwaukee to take on the Bucks on Thursday night, and this is our NBA Game of the Week. Both teams enter the week with identical 24-3 records to lead their respective conferences.

Milwaukee comes into this week having won 18 straight games, and they are playing some terrific basketball. The Bucks are 13-1 so far at home this season, and it's never fun for opponents in Milwaukee. Los Angeles brings an impressive 14-1 road record into this game. THe Lakers have won seven straight weeks, and they will be up for this game.

Bucks Have Explosive Offense

The Milwaukee Bucks led the NBA in scoring last season, and they are doing the same in 2019-20. Milwaukee is averaging over 121 points per game, and they are getting contributions from all over their roster. The Bucks want to play fast, and that should make for an exciting game against the Lakers. Milwaukee does give up close to 108 points per game, but they are comfortable playing that style.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is having another monster season for the Bucks and leads the team with 31.0 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. Point guard Eric Bledsoe is averaging a team high 5.8 assists per game this season, but he will miss this game due to injury. The Bucks are making more than 14 three-point shots per game, and they will shoot a ton of them in this game.

Lakers Playing Some Defense

The Los Angeles Lakers are usually known for their offense, but it has been their defense that has dominated this season. Los Angeles is allowing just over 104 points per game, and they hope that will slow down the Bucks. The Lakers are still averaging close to 114 points per game on offense, but they can't afford to get into a shootout against a team like Milwaukee.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis make up a terrific dynamic duo for the Lakers, and they do a little bit of everything for this team. Davis is leading the way with more than 27 points per game, and LeBron is averaging more than 10 assists per game. Both players are capable of a triple double at almost anytime. The Lakers have some other pieces but Davis and James lead the way.

Bucks Too Much For Lakers in Milwaukee

This game could very well be an NBA Finals preview, and both teams are red-hot at this point of the season. The Los Angeles Lakers are hoping that their terrific defense can steal this game on the road, but Milwaukee is just not an easy team to stop. Expect plenty of points and some terrific plays in this game, but the Bucks are just too tough to beat at home. Bet the Milwaukee Bucks over the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Game of the Week.
