NBA Pick of the Week: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Sacramento Kings

The state of California is loaded with terrific NBA teams, and two of them are set to square off on Friday Night in Los Angeles. The Lakers will host the Sacramento Kings to renew one of the best rivalries in the league. Los Angeles looks like an NBA title contender early this season, and the Kings have struggled to get things going.

The Lakers enter the week with a record of 7-2, and both of their losses have been to terrific teams. Los Angeles lost to the Clippers in week one, and suffered a loss to the defending champion Toronto Raptors over the weekend. Sacramento has just three wins through their first nine games, and it has been a struggle. The Kings have won three of their last four after losing their first five games. This Friday night matchup is the NBA Pick of the Week.

LeBron, AD Carrying Lakers

LeBron James and Anthony Davis wanted to join up and create the newest superteam in the NBA, and so far the returns have been all positive. Both players are off to great starts, and they are good enough to lead this team on a deep playoff run. Davis is leading the Lakers with 26.6 points per game, and LeBron is right behind him. "King James" is nearly averaging a triple-double this season, averaging 11.0 rebounds and close to nine assists per game.

The Lakers have also been one of the best defensive teams in the league this season, and the two stars play a role in that. Los Angeles is giving up just over 101 points per game, and they will have an answer for the Kings offensive weapons. The Lakers might not have a ton of depth, but they have enough talent to win most games.

Kings Not Finding Enough Offense

The Sacramento Kings have a terrific collection of talented offensive players, but that hasn't translated into a great offensive team. The Kings are averaging just 105.4 points per game this season, and that won't get the job done. Point guard De'Aaron Fox leads the team with 18.2 points and 7.0 assists per game, but he needs some help from his running mates.

Defense has also been an issue for the Kings at times this season, and rebounding has not helped out much. The Kings are one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA, and it's played a role in them giving up close to 112 points per game. Sacramento doesn't really have a true center and that could be a problem against Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

Lakers Blow Out Rival Kings

Even though the Sacramento Kings have been playing much better of late, this game is going to be a huge test. Sacramento still has a ton of young players on their roster, and they have yet to put it all together. The Lakers are a well oiled machine that are led by a pair of superstars. Los Angeles is going to win this game, and it likely won't be close.Take the Los Angeles Lakers over the Sacramento Kings in the NBA Pick of the Week.
