Another packed Wednesday for the NBA with 13 games (postponements notwithstanding) with everything available from the online sportsbook. This isn’t hyperbole, but this may be the most competitive set of games for the NBA this season yet with only one or two being potential routs.
The 7:00 PM slot of games pit teams within close vicinity of each other in terms of rankings and abilities. But the later games, from 9:00 PM onwards, is where it gets juicy in terms of online betting and that’s where we’re going for our NBA betting parlay picks.
Jazz Will Put the Mavs in a Spell
The Jazz welcome the struggling Mavericks to Salt Lake City and should handle business here even if they are on the second night of a back-to-back. Statistically, Utah is less proficient when lacking a rest day but are 1-1 for this season.
Dallas has been hit by the quarantine and will still be without key players like G/F Josh Richardson and F/C Dwight Powell. But C Kristaps Porzingis has been playing well since his return averaging 21.4 points with 8.8 boards on 52.5 percent shooting.
What is alarming for the Mavericks is their sudden inability to hit the long ball. At 33.1 percent they’re tied for last in the league when they were tenth last season. On the flipside, Utah excels in this category at a torrid 40.3 percent. On top of this, Utah’s third-rated defense will make it harder for the Mavs.
Dallas is the type of team who could beat anyone regardless of odds, especially if Richardson returns. But chalk for Utah based on their shooting and defense.
Pick: Utah Jazz to win
Suns Will Be Too Hot For Thunder
After dropping four of their last five, the offensively challenged Thunder are just what the Suns need. OKC is 28th in the league in offensive rating (104.7) and the only team to be in the bottom-three in both three point percent (33.1%) and free throw percent (70.5%).
The Suns have the 11th-best offense (110.5) and are tied for second in the league in assist-to-turnover (19.2). That’s the Chris Paul effect, who the Thunder will be missing on both ends. Star guard Devin Booker missed Monday’s game is questionable, but even without him Phoenix should roll.
But don’t underestimate the Thunder. These guys, like last season’s version, have been killing NBA picks with a 9-7 record against the spread including being 7-3 on the road. The Suns are only 3-3 ATS at home so I’m taking them to win straight-up, nothing more.
Pick: Phoenix Suns to win
Warriors To Rout Wolves Again
Reorder some hot Curry as Golden State should once again burn the lottery-destined Wolves. Minnesota will be missing their best players in C Karl-Anthony Towns (quarantine) and G D’Angelo Russell (quad). They were blown out 130-108 on Monday evening.
Stephen Curry has been living up to his NBA odds to win MVP this season averaging 32.9 points, 6.4 assists, and shooting 43.5 percent from downtown with a 123 offensive rating in Golden State’s eight wins. The Warriors will go as far as Curry can take them. He has +900 odds to win the NBA MVP at this point.
As shown on Monday, the Wolves’ porous perimeter defense won’t stop Curry or the Warriors’ long-range shooters. Minnesota gives up 12.3 threes per game at 37.7 percent shooting while only hitting 33.5 percent of theirs.
It’s bizarre to say, but the Warriors have more talent here. They should dust the Wolves in lopsided fashion. Again.
Pick: Warriors to win and cover
Parlay: Utah to win, Phoenix to win, and Warriors to cover
Three NBA games, three home favorites to win out and cash this parlay. With 13 NBA games, these should be the “easiest” NBA betting picks even if there are no sure things. Even Golden State, who should be the “safest” bet to win, has a lot of points to cover.
It starts with Utah, who should handle the Mavericks at home despite being on the second night of a back-to-back. Phoenix will beat the Thunder while the Warriors blow out the Wolves.
