Memphis Establishes Swagger

It wasn’t the best start for Memphis, but it’s rolling now. The Memphis Grizzlies have scored five consecutive wins, and back-to-back wins since Ja Morant returned from injury.

Wins over the Nets, Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, and Phoenix Suns, have put Memphis above .500. The win over the Nets showed the NBA betting world that Memphis can keep up with the best teams in the competition.

The Grizzlies have scored over 100 points in all five games during the winning streak, which had previously been a problem. They scored only 90 points when losing to Cleveland earlier this month.

They are doing it without Jonas Valanciunas, who is out due to health and safety protocols. However, the big Lithuanian could be back against Portland.

Memphis is riding the crest of a wave at the moment, and it will take an excellent performance from Portland to put a stop to that.

Portland Hoping To Bounce Back After Loss

There wasn’t much confidence in NBA betting markets with the Trail Blazers on Monday. They faced the San Antonio Spurs, but despite leading at times throughout the game, there was trepidation in the market.

It was Portland’s second loss from its last three games, which includes a 111-87 loss to the Indiana Pacers. Portland has done well following a loss this season, having lost consecutive games only once.

Having CJ McCollum back would be a big help, but he is out with a foot injury. That puts the onus on Damian Lillard, who is forced to do a lot of scoring.

Rodney Hood helped in the loss to the Spurs, but with McCollum in the squad, the Trail Blazers are severely hampered.

What The Statistics Indicate

There isn’t much separating the Grizzlies and the Portland Trail Blazers in most statistical departments. Memphis averages 106.5 points per game and gives up 107.6. Portland scores 115.7 and gives up 115.2, so we can’t split them.

If there is one statistical advantage, it belongs to the Grizzlies. They average more rebounds, assists, blocks and steals, which is why they have won five on the bounce.

That’s not to say Portland isn’t good in these categories, but Memphis is doing the little things better. We put that down to Portland not having a full arsenal, which is the case again on Wednesday.

Grizzlies vs Trail Blazers: Which Team Wins?

We wouldn’t be surprised to see Portland favored to win, but the value is with Memphis.

The Grizzlies have been on fire since falling to 2-6, and the confidence they have should be enough to see them win this game.

Bettors could get better than even money for the visitors.
