We are used to the Golden State Warriors setting records, but it has been for the wrong reasons in 2021.
Looking to bounce back from three consecutive losses, including a hefty 130-77 thrashing at the hands of the Raptors, Golden State is in dire straits.
They face the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, which is a much harder opponent than the Warriors have faced recently. It’s a long road back to stardom for the Warriors, but this is an important NBA game.
Lines Suggest Greek Freak Will Play
Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as day-to-day, but the NBA lines suggest he won’t be playing against the Golden State Warriors.
Some earlier, advance lines had the Warriors as 2½-point favorites, which made for an interesting online betting market. However, since the news of Giannis’ availability, the Bucks were made the firm favorite.
The Bucks still have Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday, who has recently extended his contract, as reported by ESPN.
“Jrue is one of the top guards in the NBA and we are thrilled to sign him to this extension,” Bucks general manager Jon Horst said in a statement announcing the agreement.
“Adding him to our team has made us better on both ends of the floor. He’s an elite defender and an impactful offensive player with the ability to score, shoot and facilitate.”
There is more than enough talent on the Bucks roster to handle Antetokounmpo’s exclusion.
Not so Sunny Golden State Warriors
It wasn’t long ago when the Golden State Warriors were the heavy favorite to win every game it played. Fast forward to 2021 and the Warriors are barely holding on.
The loss of Klay Thompson was a big one, but the Warriors are 23-27 and coming off three consecutive losses. All three losses showed the frailties of this outfit, especially when Steph Curry isn’t in the lineup.
Golden State suffered a record loss to Toronto 130-77 last week. Of all teams to lose to, Toronto would be one of the worst this season.
Nothing is going right for Golden State, despite having the NBA’s best shooter Steph Curry, and the self-professed best defender in the league, Draymond Green.
Kelly Oubre hasn’t lived up to expectations and after hearing he would start on the bench next season, it didn’t go down well in the locker room. According to former Warrior Andrew Bogut, teammates weren’t happy when Oubre said he is more than a bench player.
“Now I’m not gonna name the player, but I’ve heard the Warriors players didn’t take too lightly to those comments,” Bogut said.
“They basically made it pretty known that Andre Iguodala, a Finals MVP, was OK coming off the bench, but we have Kelly motherf***ing Oubre who won’t.
“And that was not directed behind his back. That was to his face by an unnamed player in that locker room who was not too happy with those comments.”
Internal problems are never fun and it often translates on the court. We expect the Warriors to continue to struggle, especially if players like Oubre and Andrew Wiggins don’t step up.

Bucks vs Warriors Game Pick
It is a tough game to call but we’re going with the Milwaukee Bucks to continue its dominance over the Warriors.
It doesn’t matter what the lineup looks like for Milwaukee on Tuesday, we like the Bucks to win. They have plenty of depth and there is too much turmoil in the Warriors’ locker room for our liking.
If the Bucks remain underdogs in NBA betting markets, that’s an incredible value.
