Two high-quality Western Conference teams do battle on Friday as the Denver Nuggets face the Phoenix Suns at 10:00 pm, ET. Our Nuggets vs Suns betting predictions for Friday look at which team will come out ahead, and move higher up the pecking order. Both teams have underperformed to date, so it will be a vital game.
The online sportsbook has odds for the Nuggets vs Suns, so check out our predictions and place your bets at BetUS.
Suns Struggling On The Road
It was a good start for Phoenix, which posted six wins from its first eight games. However, struggles on the road has seen it lose three of the last four.
The Suns have posted losses to the Detroit Pistons, Washington and the Grizzlies, and they failed to score over 107 points in all three games. Playing on the road hasn’t helped the Suns record, but moving back to PHX Arena should.
Phoenix endured a four-game road trip where they went 1-3. The only win came against Toronto (125-117), but there is clear frustration in the camp. Devin Booker was not happy with their performance against the Memphis Grizzlies, so keeping their minds on the job should be the focus.
With a 3-1 record at home, Phoenix could put its road woes behind them and starting stringing wins together.
Denver Gets Back To .500
Trading wins and losses isn’t a way to get above .500, and Denver has found that out the hard way this season. It has struggled to produce back-to-back wins, but with the victory over Oklahoma City, it got back to a 7-7 record.
The Denver Nuggets are a team that isn’t expected to be without a winning record after 14 games. They were a tough opponent last season, and Nikola Jokic is playing extremely well, so finding the winning recipe shouldn’t be hard.
Jokic is averaging a triple-double, with 25.1 points, 11.4 rebounds and 10 assists per game. It has been an impressive 14-game run for the center, but it hasn’t translated to team success.
More is needed from his supporting crew if the Nuggets want to stay above .500 on Friday night.
Which Team Has More Scope?
Expectations are high for both the Suns and Nuggets, but which team has the higher ceiling this season?
The Phoenix Suns are still a relatively young team, with the exception of Chris Paul. It has the makings to make a deep playoff run, as it showed in the bubble last season. However, they could be limited by the lack of experience in the playoffs.
Paul is a great player and future Hall of Fame inductee, but he’s yet to win an NBA Championship. He is unlikely to win one at Phoenix, but the Nuggets have a team that could contest the Western Conference Championship.
Denver battles hard and although they haven’t put it all together so far this season, scoring a win over Phoenix could get them going.
We expect a close game and Phoenix could be well-favored with online betting bookmakers. However, there should be value with Denver.
The Nuggets looked good when beating Oklahoma City 119-101, and the offensive production was good to see. They had scored under 115 points in their last four games, so scoring 119 is a good sign.
There is more upside for Denver, so my NBA pick is the Nuggets to win.
