Bettors aren’t sure what to make of the Warriors, who have been wildly inconsistent. However, they take on the most disappointing team of 2021.
Washington has been awful, winning 18 games. However, all is not lost and there is time to make a run towards the playoffs.
That’s what’s on the line this Friday when the Wizards and Warriors battle at Chase Center.
Warriors Battle Back Against Bucks
Just when it looked as though the Warriors were going to lose four straight, they fought back to beat Milwaukee.
The 122-121 win was a testament to their ability and although Milwaukee was playing without Giannis, Golden State had no right to win that game in the fourth quarter.
Steph Curry did what he does best. He went for 41 points on 14/21 shooting and is lifting the Warriors almost single-handedly. There is help from the likes of Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr, but it’s limited.
The win stopped a three-game slide, which included an unforgivable loss to the Raptors. Toronto put up 130 points on Golden State, which scored only 77 in return. Curry didn’t play the game, which shows you how bad the Warriors are without him.

Luckily, we expect to see heavy doses of Curry in the run to the playoffs. Despite nursing a sore tailbone, the former MVP has been putting up excellent numbers. He is currently averaging 29.7 points per game but expects to see that climb in the coming months.
“I thought he was just phenomenal,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr told ESPN. “I mean, Jrue Holiday’s one of the best defensive guards in the league, and I thought Jrue did a great job on Steph all night just pressing him, using his strength and physicality. And Steph still goes out there and gets 41. Pretty impressive game. Amazing.”
With Curry in the lineup, the online sports betting matchup favors Golden State. It opened at -4½ for the Warriors and we’re expecting to see plenty of money come for the home side.
No Magic In Washington
The Washington Wizards have fallen flat and seemingly no amount of magic spells could produce a better effort.
Effort is the keyword with Washington because there is none. Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook will fill their personal stat sheets, but it doesn’t translate to team success.
Beal is averaging 31.2 points and Westbrook is grabbing 10.5 rebounds and 10.6 assists. However, Washington has won only 18 games and been embarrassed on multiple occasions.
Prior to beating a hapless Orlando outfit, Washington had lost to the likes of Toronto, Charlotte, Dallas, and Detroit. It scored 91 points against Detroit and 87 points against Dallas, which is laughable in modern NBA.
An offensive explosion against the Magic could give the Wizards confidence. They scored 131 points, which was a positive. However, they allowed a poor Orlando team to score 116.
That level of defense won’t work against the Warriors and more importantly Steph Curry, who will get open shots throughout the game.
If Washington wants to shirk the disappointing tag, it will need to show some revolve on Friday.
Wizards vs Warriors ATS Stats
Washington isn’t as bad as expected in the ATS statistical department. It’s 25-25-0 against the spread and it has covered 13 of its 24 road games.
That bodes well for the 4½ margin for Friday’s game. It is 5-5 from the last 10 games and it’s tracking better than Golden State in this area.
Golden State owns a 23-28-0 ATS record, which has floundered over the last 10 games. The Warriors have covered only three of their last 10 games. However, there is positive news for Warriors’ backers.
They have a 14-10-0 ATS record at Chase Center, which NBA betting lines have taken into account for Friday’s game.
Washington is 4-0 ATS in its last four games following a win of more than 10 points, so the win against Magic is a good form indicator.
That’s where the positive betting trends end for the Wizards, which are 0-5 ATS in their last five Friday games. They are also 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as an underdog.
Golden State is 4-0 ATS in its last four games as a home favorite. We know it plays well at Chase Center and Washington struggles on the road, so that is a telling betting trend for Warriors vs Wizards.
The over is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Golden State and 4-0 involving the Warriors and Wizards. We are expecting an open contest where defense could be put on the backburner.
Wizards vs Warriors Game Pick
Betting on Washington with confidence is unattainable, so we’re picking Golden State to cover the 4½ spread.
We were impressed with the comeback win over Milwaukee and playing a team that averages 120.2 points allowed should see Curry, Oubre, and Wiggins get open shots throughout the night.
Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook are happy with stepping on the court and not much else. There are no excuses for Washington’s poor record in 2021, except for a lack of heart and passion.
