NCAA Football GOTW: Auburn Tigers at Florida Gators

The SEC Conference still has a handful of undefeated teams this season, but one team will leave that group on Saturday. The Florida Gators will host the Auburn Tigers at the Swamp in a battle of 5-0 teams. Both Auburn and Florida have built up impressive resumes already this season, but one team will likely see their College Football Playoff hopes ended in this game.

Auburn already has a pair of top-25 wins on their resume, and they have looked extremely impressive of late. The Tigers opened up the season with a huge win against Oregon, and rolled to a huge 56-23 win over Mississippi State a week ago. Florida is also 5-0 this season, but their schedule has not been as difficult. The Gators do have an impressive win over Kentucky, but haven't really been challenged outside of that game.Auburn comes into this game as a -3.5 point road favorite in this game.

Florida Has Faith in Kyle Trask

Florida entered the season with Feleipe Franks as their starting quarterback, but an injury has forced Kyle Trask into action. Trask has been sharp since taking over the job, but the will be facing one of the most elite defenses in the country in this game. The backup quarterback has completed over 77 percent of his pass attempts this season, but does not have the ability to run with the ball.

Florida has been almost impossible to score against this season, and they come into this matchup allowing just 8.8 points per contest. The Gators have plenty of future NFL players on that side of the ball, and they will deliver some heavy hitting in this game. Florida has already recorded 24 sacks through their first five games, and they will make life difficult on the Auburn offense.

Auburn Wants to Run the Ball

Auburn has an extremely talented quarterback under center in Bo Nix, but he is suffering through some growing pains right now. Nix is just a freshman and has completed less than 60 percent of his passes this season. Running back JaTarvious Whitlow has ran for 463 rushing yards and seven touchdowns this season, and the Tigers will feature him early and often in this game.

The Tigers have been just as good as Florida when it comes to defense, although they have allowed a little over 17 points per game. Auburn will be looking for some takeaways in this game after recording just one through the first five weeks. The Tigers defense is big and fast, and they should be able to get some pressure on Trask in this game.

Tigers Leave the Swamp With a Win

The SEC appears to be wide open this year, and there are a number of teams that can win the title. This game will help make things a little more clear in the conference, and the winner is going to move to 6-0. If Florida had their entire roster in this game then things would be different, but they don't. Auburn has just been impressive all season long, and they are going to come away with a huge win in this game.Bet the Auburn Tigers -3.5 over the Florida Gators.
