AFC Championship Betting Preview

A trip to the Super Bowl is on the line when the Kansas City Chiefs host the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game. The Kansas City Chiefs were expected to be in this game, but the Tennessee Titans are a huge surprise. Both teams have been extremely impressive on offense in the postseason, and they each have a solid defense.

Tennessee snuck into the playoff field as the number six seed, but they have not played like it. Upset wins over the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens have the Titans playing with a ton of confidence heading into Kansas City.

The Chiefs were the number two seed in the AFC, and they looked like it in the Divisional Round. Kansas City fell behind by a score of 24-0 before putting up an impressive performance in pulling out a 51-31 victory.

The Kansas City Chiefs are -7.0 point favorites over the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game.

Chiefs Had Their Offense Show Up

It took a long time for the Kansas City Chiefs to get their offense going against the Houston Texans, but then they couldn't be stopped. The Chiefs scored a touchdown on seven straight possessions, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw five touchdown passes. Kansas City averaged 28.2 points per game during the regular season, and their offense has plenty of weapons.

Defense and special teams has also played a huge role for the Chiefs this season, but both areas struggled in the win over the Houston Texans. Kansas City had a punt blocked for a touchdown and also muffed a punt in the win. The Chiefs allowed 24 straight points to the Texans before figuring things out. Kansas City will need to find a way to slow down Derrick Henry in this game.

Henry Running Well For Titans

Derrick Henry led the NFL in rushing during the regular season, but he has been even better for the Titans in the playoffs. Henry is averaging over 185 rushing yards per game through the first two rounds, and Tennessee is comfortable having him run the ball a ton. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been terrific this season as well, and the Titans have been hard to beat with him at quarterback.

The Titans defense was overshadowed by Henry and the offense during the regular season, but they have been terrific in the playoffs. Tennessee found a way to slow down Ravens' quarterback Lamar Jackson, which is not an easy task. The Titans allowed 32 points to the Chiefs in a regular season game, and they will likely need to be better than that to win this game.

Chiefs Too Much For Titans

The Tennessee Titans have had a terrific run through the NFL Playoffs, and they have definitely been giant killers. Winning two straight road games is extremely impressive, but their run is going to end on Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs got off to a miserable start a week ago, but still managed to roll over the Houston Texans. Kansas City can score points in a hurry, and they are not going to be stopped. Bet the Kansas City Chiefs -7.0 over the Tennessee Titans to reach the Super Bowl.
