Against the Spread (Devlin Duckett)
The Falcons blew another huge lead last week, losing 31-27 to the Buccaneers after holding a 17-0 halftime lead. This kindles thoughts of early season Atlanta collapses and what I believed to be a cursed squad. However, let’s not lose sight of the forest for the trees. The Chiefs are 13-1, but they haven’t covered ATS since they played the Jets in Week 8. Think about that for a moment. As dominant and capable of winning as Kansas City has been, the Chiefs haven’t covered a spread in six weeks. The Falcons are eliminated from playoff inclusion, but Matt Ryan has been gunslinging and has the Chiefs in his sights. I don’t believe that Atlanta wins this game, but neither do I see Kansas City covering a double-digit spread. The Chiefs are thin at running back with Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of commission, and this may in fact affect overall game flow. The Falcons go down swinging in Arrowhead Stadium, winning ATS. Chiefs 27, Falcons 21
Over/Under (Zack Robinson)
Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons are already thinking about next season, but Ryan has developed really good chemistry with Calvin Ridley. Ridley has been the Falcons’ No. 1 receiver due to Julio Jones injury.
Because the Falcons didn’t watch any Rams tape from last year, Todd Gurley hasn’t been what they expected. Which is why Ito Smith and Brian Hill have been carrying the load from the backfield.
The Falcons average 25.4 points per game and the total has gone under in six of their last eight games this season.
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are kind of unstoppable. They average 31.1 points per game (tied in first place with the Tennessee Titans).
Travis Kelce has 1,318 receiving yards (second best in the league), while Tyreek Hill has 1,211 receiving yards (fifth best in the league).
With rookie RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire out due to injury, veteran Le’Veon Bell should be even more involved.
The total has gone over in five of Kansas City’s last five games against Atlanta. Go over once again.
