Against the Spread (Devlin Duckett)

The only thing consistent about the 4-8 Falcons is that they’re inconsistent. Atlanta started the season cursed, then leveled out a bit after firing head coach Dan Quinn. The Falcons have since blown out teams like the Vikings and Raiders, but have found ways to lose against the Lions and Bears. Atlanta is favored by 2½ points in Los Angeles, because the 3-9 Chargers are predictably awful these days. L.A. is 1-5 over its previous six games, and the only victory (barely) came against the winless NY Jets. Most recently, the Chargers were shellacked 45-0 by the Patriots in their own building. The Falcons are 7-2 ATS over their last nine road games, while the Chargers are 0-6 ATS in their last six games overall. Atlanta wins and covers in a second consecutive SoFi Stadium smackdown for Los Angeles. Falcons 33, Chargers 21

Over/Under (Zack Robinson)

The Atlanta Falcons have improved a lot defensively, but they keep struggling offensively despite having huge names such as Matt Ryan, Todd Gurley, Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. They couldn’t score more than 16 points in two of their last three games.

Gurley hasn’t been what they expected. Actually, the last couple of weeks Ito Smith and Brian Hill have been carrying the load from the backfield.

The Falcons average 25.9 points per game and the total has gone under in four of their last five games.

Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers come from a 45-0 loss to the New England Patriots. That was Herbert’s worst game so far as a professional, but rather than that he has been sensational.

Austin Ekeler is back, but he needs more time to adapt. WR’s such as Mike Williams and Jalen Guyton need to be more consistent.

The Chargers average 23.1 points per game and the total has gone under in seven of their last eight games against Atlanta.

Both teams will play better than last week but go under in a close one.
