Straight Up (Sebastian Morera)
The Carolina Panthers are 2-2 following 4 weeks of NFL betting action. Carolina kicked things off with back-to-back losses to the Raiders and Bucs before getting a 21-16 win over the Chargers. Afterward, the Panthers managed to shock the sports betting community with a dazzling 31-21 upset win over the Cardinals. Now Carolina looks to build on their two-game win streak by taking on their NFC South rivals, the Atlanta Falcons, on the road.
The Falcons are having an atrocious season. Although putting up good numbers on offense, Atlanta isn’t finding ways to win games — the hallmark of a bad team. The first three weeks saw them build leads early only to have them chipped away time and time again. This past Monday night, the Falcons looked outclass against the Green Bay Packers on the road. Accounting for the kind of season they’re having, we can expect the Falcons to come out on the losing end here.
Against the Spread (Devlin Duckett)
All of a sudden, the Carolina Panthers are 2-2. Carolina has won two straight games against formidable adversaries, the L.A. Chargers and Arizona Cardinals. QB Teddy Bridgewater is clicking with WR Robby Anderson, and fill-in RB Mike Davis is handling his duties admirably. Expect Bridgewater to connect with Anderson often against the Falcons’ 31st-ranked pass defense. Atlanta’s weak passing D is a huge reason that they’re currently 0-4 (another is head coach Dan Quinn).
The Panthers passing D is ranked seventh in the league, and that will be an issue for Matt Ryan and his cursed dirty birds. Atlanta’s receiving corps are banged up, and Ryan only threw for 285 yards last week against Green Bay (zero TDs). In fact, they should be called the receiving corpse. Star wideout Julio Jones (hamstring) hasn’t practiced yet this week, and WR Calvin Ridley was a limited participant.
Carolina is gaining steam and will run right through Atlanta, snatching a victory along the way. Bridgewater likely throws for over 300 yards, with Anderson and Davis eclipsing 100 yards each in their respective positions. The nightmare continues for the Falcons.

Over/Under (Zack Robinson)
The Carolina Panthers are winning without Christian McCaffrey and they average 26 points in both of their victories.
Teddy Bridgewater is proving that he can carry the offense if needed and WR Robby Anderson is silencing all of the doubters about him being a No. 1 receiver. After four games, the Panthers average 24.8 points per game.
The total has gone over in seven of Carolina’s last ten games.
The Atlanta Falcons started the season 0-4 for the first time since 1999, but no changes on the sideline, at least not yet.
Matt Ryan is a reliable quarterback, Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley are two magnificent receivers and Todd Gurley can be one of the most effective RB’s, so what’s the problem? The defense allowed 34.5 points per game (second worst in the league).
The total has gone over in six of Atlanta’s last seven games against an opponent from the NFC. Go over in a back and forth game.
