Against the Spread (Devlin Duckett)

QB Baker Mayfield was near-perfect during the Browns’ 20-6 thumping of the Giants in Week 15. Mayfield completed 27-of-32 passes for 297 yards and two touchdowns, and Cleveland piled up 392 total yards of offense. The Browns don’t have to travel far, since they’re playing in East Rutherford, NJ for the second straight week. The Jets are still probably a bit confused as to how they managed to defeat the Rams 23-20 last week. NY QB Sam Darnold played decently, connecting on 22-of-31 passes for 207 yards and a score. The Jets dominated TOP by eight-and-a-half minutes, and Gang Green’s D did a nice job vs. Jared Goff and company. The current point-spread has the Browns favored by 10 points, and that’s high enough for me to bet on NY. Cleveland should certainly win the contest, but those pesky Jets are often sniffing around the spoiler spectrum. The Browns are 2-6 ATS over their previous eight games, while the Jets are 3-2 ATS over their last five contests. Browns 28, Jets 23

Over/Under (Zack Robinson)

The Cleveland Browns still have a chance of winning the AFC North. They need to crush the Jets and wait for the Steelers to lose against the Indianapolis Colts. The two teams play each other in Week 17.

Baker Mayfield and Nick Chubb have been playing great. Rashard Higgins has become the team’s No. 1 receiver and the defense has been pretty solid, led by Myles Garrett.

The Browns average 26.3 points per game and the total has gone over in five of their last seven games played in December.

Well, the New York Jets beat the Los Angeles Rams, but they are still the Jets.

QB Sam Darnold has improved over the last couple of weeks, while veteran Frank Gore is carrying the load from the backfield. Jamison Crowder and Breshad Perriman could be one of the best receivers’ duos in the league, but they need a better system, and a head coach to implement it.

The Jets average 14.7 points per game (worst in the league) and the total has gone under in five of their last six games against an opponent from the AFC North.

Go under in a modest blowout for Cleveland.
