Against the Spread (Devlin Duckett)
In a battle between bum-lucks, the 3-9 Cowboys travel to Cincinnati to tangle with the 2-9-1 Bengals. Dallas is favored by 3½ points on the road, despite being blown out 75-33 the previous two contests. The Cowboys are 2-10 ATS this season, and cannot be trusted to cover a point spread of any size. Cincinnati somehow has recorded a 7-4-1 mark ATS in 2020, and will spoil Andy Dalton’s return to Paul Brown Stadium. Look for a big game from RB Giovanni Bernard and WR Tyler Boyd vs the league’s worst defense. The Cowboys are also playing on short rest after getting walloped by the Ravens 34-17 on Tuesday night. Cincinnati’s 20th-ranked defense will have an opportunity to flex on Dallas’s tired offense. Bengals 31, Cowboys 24
Over/Under (Zack Robinson)
All NFC East teams have losing records, but the Dallas Cowboys are the worst. Andy Dalton is certainly an improvement from Ben DiNucci, but he’s no Dak Prescott.
The Cowboys have an incredible receivers’ unit with Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup, but their talent is being wasted. Also, Ezekiel Elliott is having a very bad year.
Dallas average 22.3 points per game and the total has gone over in five of their last six games played in December.
The Cincinnati Bengals are already thinking about next season. With Joe Burrow and Joe Mixon out, the offense has been unproductive, and the offensive line is one of the worst in the league.
Brandon Allen has been playing under center, but Ryan Finley could receive an opportunity against Dallas.
The Bengals average 19.8 points per game (fourth worst in the league) and the total has gone under in four of their last five games against the Cowboys.
Go under in Dalton’s return to Cincy. It’s going to be a close one.
