Straight Up (Gilad Chudler)
The Denver Broncos nearly beat the Titans during Week 1 in an extremely close and low-scoring affair that ended up 16-14 in the Titans’ favor. QB Drew Lock will have his work cut out for against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Lock completed 22-of-33 attempts, completed 216 yards and threw TD pass to TE Noah Fant, who led the offense with 5 receptions for 81 yards. Melvin Gordon had 15 carries and went for 78 yards, also scoring.
The Steelers won their opener against the New York Giants and look poised for a division title challenge. Led by QB Ben Roethlisberger, they defeated the Giants 26-16.
Roethlisberger completed 21-of-32 attempts and threw for 229 yards, including three touchdown passes. Benny Snell Jr. carried 19 times for 113 yards. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson caught 6 passes each while Smith-Schuster scored two touchdowns.
The Steelers shouldn’t have any issues getting their second win of the season on Sunday.
Against the Spread (Sebastian Morera)
The Broncos opened the season with a 16-14 loss to the Titans. Drew Lock looked good, finishing with 216 passing yards, 1 touchdown and a 95.0 passer rating. Lock will be competing against a future Hall of Famer in Ben Roethlisberger this weekend. Roethlisberger already has three touchdowns passes so it’ll be up to Lock to keep Denver in the game.
The Steelers are heavy favorites. Their rush defense looked amazing in their opening game. If they’re able to neutralize Denver’s running game, that will put further pressure on Lock. Expect them to do just that as they kick the season off with a 2-0 start as they cover the spread against Denver.
Over/Under (Zack Robinson)
The Denver Broncos are a good young team, but sometimes young means making a lot of mistakes, just as the Broncos did in Week 1. QB Drew Lock and WR Jerry Jeudy need to calm down, and the offense really needs WR Courtland Sutton back (day to day due to a shoulder injury); RB Philip Lindsay (ankle) is doubtful and CB A.J. Bouye (shoulder) is out.
The Pittsburgh Steelers breathed after seeing that the connection between Ben Roethlisberger and Juju Smith-Schuster remains as one of the best QB-WR NFL’s duos. RB James Conner (ankle) is doubtful but Benny Snell Jr. (113 YDS) looked good in Week 1.
The total has gone over in five of Denver’s last five games against Pittsburgh on the road, but these are two very different teams from recent years; go under.
