Against the Spread (Devlin Duckett)
The Detroit Lions were blown out 41-25 by the Texans on Thanksgiving, and have lost four of their last five. As a result, the Lions have finally fired head coach Matt Patricia, and hired Darrell Bevell as interim head coach. Detroit is no doubt thankful to turn the page on this ugly season, and has a clean slate vs Chicago. For as bad as the Lions have been, the Bears are worse. It’s interesting that Chicago also lost 41-25 in its most recent game, falling to the Packers in Green Bay. The Bears are on a five-game slide, and are 1-6 ATS over their previous seven games. The error-prone Mitchell Trubisky is starting again at quarterback vs Detroit, and Chicago’s running game ranks dead last in the NFL. The Lions will be playing with a new lease on life post-Patricia, and should win ATS and SU here. Lions 27, Bears 24
Over/Under (Zack Robinson)
The Detroit Lions fired their GM and their Head Coach, Matt Patricia. Former OC Darrell Bevell will be their HC until the end of the current season. That change should benefit Matthew Stafford and the rest of the offense. The Lions expect WR Kenny Golladay to be ready to go, while RB D’Andre Swift remains questionable.
The Lions average 22.9 points per game and the total has gone over in four of their last five games.
Mitch Trubisky is back under center for the Chicago Bears. He threw for 242 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions against the Green Bay Packers (Week 12). Recently, David Montgomery has been playing better, which is why the Bears could limit their passing game, but they are going to face a very vulnerable secondary.
The Bears average 19.6 points per game (fourth worst in the league) and the total has gone under in six of their last eight games.
Chicago already beat the Lions this season (Week 1) 27-23. Go over again.
