Straight Up (Gilad Chudler)

The Detroit Lions opened their 2020 season with a heartbreaking loss to the Chicago Bears. They were leading 23-6 coming into the fourth quarter and gave up 21 points. They ultimately loss 27-23 after looking like they had the game in the bag.

Matthew Stafford struggled a bit only completing 24-of-42 attempts for 297 yards. He had 5 carries for 23 yards. Adrian Peterson did most of the work on offense carrying 14 times for 93 yards.

The Green Bay Packers won their season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, 43-34. Aaron Rodgers had a great start, completing 32-of-44  for 364 yards and 4 touchdown passes. Aaron Jones carried the ball 16 teams for 66 yards and a touchdown of his own. Davante Adams also had an amazing performance with 14 receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

It’s hard to see the Packers going down to the Lions on Sunday.

Against the Spread (Sebastian Morera)

The Lions suffered a 27-23 to the Bears in Week 1. Now they look to rebound against a tougher NFC North opponent. Although the odds are pegging Detroit as a heavy underdog, the Lions have had quite a bit of success against the Packers recently. In fact, the Lions are 4-2 SU in their last 6 against Green Bay and 6-0 ATS as well. But is that betting trend enough to convince you to take the Lions against that 6.5 spread?

Considering how dominant the Packers looked in their opener, I’m going to go ahead and say it isn’t. Expect the Packers to come out and deliver another lopsided victory over an NFC North rival. Green Bay will certainly cover the spread.

Over/Under (Zack Robinson)

QB Matthew Stafford is back, but the Detroit Lions are not the same without WR Kenny Golladay, who missed Week 1 due to a hamstring injury. His status for Week 2 remains on the air just like CB Desmond Trufant’s.

The Green Bay Packers got off to a solid start, mainly Aaron Rodgers who threw for 364 yards and 4 touchdowns. WR Davante Adams also had a huge game with 14 receptions, 156 yards and 2 touchdowns; expect the connection to continue in Week 2 and beyond.

Green Bay is pretty solid at Lambeau Field (6-0 in their last six games) and the total has gone over in 6 of their last 9 games against Detroit. Go with the over.
