Against the Spread (Devlin Duckett)

The Indianapolis Colts (7-4) were trounced at home 45-26 by the Titans last week, and are hoping for better luck against the Houston Texans (4-7). The Colts run defense suffered without DL DeForest Buckner (COVID-19 list) vs Tennessee, and they may be without him again vs Houston. Last week, the Texans blew out the Lions 41-25 on Thanksgiving Day. Watson completed 17-of-25 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns. Houston has won three of its last four contests, and seem content to play the spoiler. Texans’ QB Deshaun Watson is playing phenomenally lately, throwing for 662 yards and six touchdowns in his last two games. Watson has also led Houston in rushing over that span, running for 60 yards and a score. Even without WR Will Fuller (PED suspension), the Texans are a dangerous, feisty squad. It’s clear that this Houston team will not go quietly into the night, and Indianapolis has its hands full. Take the Texans +3 in this tight AFC South tilt. Colts 31, Texans 29

Over/Under (Zack Robinson)

The Indianapolis Colts are one of the most inconsistent teams in the NFL, but at least Philip Rivers is solving some offensive issues. The veteran QB finally developed some chemistry with veteran wide receiver T.Y. Hilton, giving them the opportunity to throw deep. Last week, the Colts really missed rookie RB Jonathan Taylor (COVID-19), who should be back and ready to go.

Indianapolis average 27.5 points per game and the total has gone over in five of their last six games on the road.

Just when things were starting to change for the Houston Texans, the league announced that WR Will Fuller and CB Bradley Roby will miss the rest of the season after a PED violation. Fuller finished with 171 yards and two touchdowns against the Detroit Lions (Week 12) and he will be really missed. Maybe forever. His contract will be up at season’s end. Houston expects RB David Johnson to be back from IR.

The Texans average 24.4 points per game and the total has gone under in four of their last six games played on a Sunday.

Go under in a close one.
