Against the Spread (Devlin Duckett)
Chargers’ rookie QB Justin Herbert has a very bright future ahead, but L.A. is 2-5 in the here and now. The main issue surrounding the Chargers lately (aside from injury) involves their inability to close out games. Los Angeles has had fourth quarter leads on the Chiefs, Saints, Buccaneers, and the Broncos, but choked it all away. The Chargers are losers of five-out-of-six, and face a dangerous Las Vegas team. The Raiders are still in the playoff hunt with a record of 4-3, and beat the Browns 16-6 last week. Las Vegas has the 10th-best rushing attack right now, and RB Josh Jacobs finally broke the 100-yard barrier vs Cleveland. Jacobs rushed for 129 yards on 31 carries, and will keep the freight train in gear against L.A. This AFC West showdown should prove to be high-scoring and entertaining, with no shortage of fourth-quarter drama. The Raiders are 3-1 ATS on the road this season, and 5-1 ATS in their last six road games overall. The Chargers have failed to cover in 10 of their last 13 contests vs AFC opponents. The writing is on the wall. Raiders 30, Chargers 21
Over/Under (Zack Robinson)
The Las Vegas Raiders vs Cleveland Browns game (Week 8) disappointed everybody (16-6). Previously, the Raiders scored at least 20 points in all their games. RB Josh Jacobs (128 rushing yards) proved that he can carry the load when the team needs him.
The Raiders average 26.7 points per game and the total has gone over in six of their last seven games.
Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers have lost three of their last four games despite having scored at least 27 points in each one. Herbert is getting used to throwing 3+ touchdown passes per game (four games in a row with at least three touchdown passes).
The Chargers average 25.6 points per game and the total has gone over in four of their last five games.
Last season, the Raiders won both games (26-24 and 24-17) but these teams have a new mentality. Go over.
