Straight Up (Sebastian Morera)
The Chargers bolt into this Monday Night Football contest sporting a 1-3 record. After kicking the season off with a 16-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles has yet to crack the win column since. Their most recent loss came at the hands of Tom Brady, 38-31 in Tampa Bay. Now they get to face off against another 40+ year-old quarterback in Drew Brees.
The Saints fell to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers but managed to rebound against Detroit 35-29 in Week 4. Although the game was closer than New Orleans would’ve liked, it was good that the Saints got back on the winning side of things. Versus the Chargers, I see Brees’ experience leading the Saints over the younger Justin Herbert.
Against the Spread (Devlin Duckett)
What team wants to play the Los Angeles Chargers (1-3) right now? My guess is that no one envies that formidable task. The Chargers have only won one game, but they are ferocious competitors who keep every game close. Los Angeles’ three losses have come by an average of five points per game. The Bolts took the reigning champion Chiefs to OT, and barely lost a shootout with Brady and his Buccaneers last week. The Chargers are a dangerous team, and they’ll give the New Orleans Saints (2-2) fits on Monday Night Football.
Rookie QB Justin Herbert is heating up, and will not shy away from a gunfight with Drew Brees. Herbert has been impressive during his virgin campaign, throwing for 931 yards and five touchdowns, with a passer rating of 102.2. The Saints snuck by the Lions 35-29 in a close Week 4 matchup, and will utter a collective sigh of relief after they slip past the Chargers on MNF. New Orleans doesn’t cover the spread against a feisty Los Angeles team.

Over/Under (Zack Robinson)
Three games for rookie QB Justin Herbert and still no victory. Nevertheless, he threw for at least 290 yards and 1 touchdown in each game.
The Los Angeles Chargers average 20.8 points per game and the total has gone under in four of the Chargers’ last six games against an opponent from the NFC.
With Michael Thomas out, Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints are finding new ways to win.
RB’s Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray have been sensational and WR’s Emmanuel Sanders and Tre ‘Quan Smith have been the go-to guys in Thomas’ absence.
The total has gone over in six of New Orleans’ last nine games played on Monday. Go over in a good one.
