Las Vegas is currently on the outside looking in, desperately needing a win to stay alive in the Wild-Card race. After getting demolished by the Falcons and nipping the Jets, the Raiders crumbled at home vs the Colts and Chargers. Las Vegas has lost four of its last five games, and hangs on to its playoff dreams by a thread. The Raiders have a 2% chance of making the postseason, and the Dolphins are in sniper mode. Miami eliminated New England last week, with a 22-12 victory at Hard Rock Stadium. QB Tua Tagovailoa pulled off the rare feat of defeating Bill Belichick, who is renowned for dominating rookie quarterbacks. Tagovailoa didn’t post staggering numbers, but he got the job done without his top four offensive weapons on the field. All four of those players (RB Myles Gaskin, TE Mike Gesicki, WRs DeVante Parker and Jakeem Grant) might play Saturday. While Tagovailoa’s toys have a shot at playing this week, Raiders’ QB Derek Carr does not. Miami’s top-ranked defense will feast on Marcus Mariota, who threw an interception last week that cost Las Vegas the game. The Dolphins are 11-3 ATS this season, and look good to cover three points here. Dolphins 23, Raiders 17
Over/Under (Zack Robinson)
Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins are really close to clinching a playoff spot, and they’ll be facing one of the worst defenses in the league (30.1 points per game, fourth worst).
Several key offensive players, including DeVante Parker, Miles Gaskin and Mike Gesicki didn’t play last week, but the Dolphins beat the Patriots (22-12) anyways. They all remain questionable.
The Dolphins average 25.1 points per game and the total has gone under in four of their last five games.
Derek Carr remains questionable, but the QB said that he’s going to do everything he can to be on the field’ against the Dolphins. Otherwise, the Las Vegas Raiders would have to go with Marcus Mariota.
Either way, Darren Waller and Josh Jacobs have been sensational. The Raiders need them to be at the top of their game in order to have a chance against a pretty tough defense.
The Raiders average 26.9 points per game and the total has gone over in their last six games against Miami. Expect some fireworks and go over.
