Straight Up (Sebastian Morera)
The Jets are winless through five weeks of NFL action. Moreover, they haven’t been competitive in any of their games. New York is coming off a 30-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals and is being pegged as a massive underdog in Week 6 as well.
The Dolphins shocked a good part of the NFL betting community with their 43-17 triumph over the 49ers this past weekend. This raised them to 2-3 on the year. Considering they’re facing the Jets this weekend, I’m expecting Miami to rise to .500 in Week 6.
Against the Spread (Devlin Duckett)
The winless NY Jets (0-5) stagger into Hard Rock Stadium in Week 6, for what will surely be a shellacking at the hands of the Miami Dolphins (2-3). The Jets are nothing more than a formality on any opponent’s calendar at this point. Disgruntled RB Le’Veon Bell has been released, and QB Sam Darnold is still nursing a shoulder injury. Veteran warm body Joe Flacco will almost certainly be starting at quarterback vs Miami.
The surging Dolphins are coming off of an impressive 43-17 beatdown of the 49ers in San Francisco, and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is on fire. Miami can feel the rising tide throughout the organization, and the Dolphins will straight wallop the reeling Jets here. Miami head coach Brian Flores has his squad thinking playoffs, and I agree with the sentiment. NY will leave Miami with 0-6 tattooed across its face, after suffering another lopsided loss.

Over/Under (Zack Robinson)
The New York Jets have a new QB under center in Joe Flacco and they cut RB Le’Veon Bell.
That’s the summary of the winless Jets season. They are a disaster on both sides of the field and that’s not going to change anytime soon.
The Jets average 15 points per game (worst in the league) and the total has gone under in seven of New York’s last 10 games.
Miami surprised everybody by smashing the San Francisco 49ers on the road.
Ryan Fitzpatrick remains as a reliable QB and RB Miles Gaskin and WR DeVante Parker are dangerous weapons.
The total has gone over in seven of Miami’s last eleven games. Go over with Miami leading the way.
