Next Game: vs. Cowboys
Last Game: vs. Lions
The Vikings moved to 3-5 on the year this past Sunday against the Lions. Dalvin Cook stole the show, carrying the ball 22 times for 206 yards and two touchdowns.
Kirk Cousins only threw for 220 yards, but was effective in this NFL matchup, finding the endzone three times through the air.
The defense took advantage of Matthew Stafford, who didn’t practice all week for the Lions. The Vikings picked off a combined three passes from Stafford and his backup, Chase Daniel.
Cousins has thrown 10 interceptions. He has only had three games where he hasn’t turned the ball over once. These games have been the only Vikings victories in 2020.
The Vikings are now on a two-game win streak. They slew the first- and last-place teams in the NFC North the past two weeks and moved out of last place in the division. Can they make it 3-for-3 against division opponents in the past three weeks?
OUT: Cameron Dantzler CB, Holton Hill CB
Chicago Bears Betting Record
ATS Home: 2-2
ATS Away: 3-2
ATS Fave: 0-1
ATS Dog: 5-3
Next Game: at Packers
Last Game: at Titans
Chicago should have a sour taste in their mouth after last Sunday’s contest. They were on the wrong side of a 24-17 loss to the Titans. It took Nick Foles a while to get going, but he played well, completing 36-of-52 attempts for 335 yards and two touchdowns.
The latest NFL news concerns David Montgomery. He left Sunday’s matchup with a possible concussion.
Once this happened, Chicago’s ground game was nonexistent. Montgomery had 30 of the team’s 56 yards. The lack of ground production mixed with two lost fumbles and a Tennessee defensive touchdown created the difference last Sunday.
Chicago has relied on the pass throughout the entire season. Nick Foles is averaging 41 attempts per game, which is good for third in the league.
Even though Matt Nagy likes to sling it all over the field, David Montgomery has been a staple in the Bears offense all year. He’s only averaging 76 total yards per game, but he’s been able to support the passing game to keep opposing defenses guessing.
OUT: John Jenkins NT, Mitchell Trubisky QB, Roy Robertson-Harris DE, Sam Mustipher C, Deon Bush S
QUESTIONABLE: Sherrick McMannis S, David Montgomery RB
Betting on the Game
Both teams are solid against the spread. The Vikings are 5-3, and the Bears are 5-4 in 2020.
The Vikings aren’t great as favorites, but they have covered the past two weeks as an underdog. The Bears are 5-3 as underdogs ATS on the year, so this statistic favors Chicago for Monday as 3-point dogs.
Even though the Vikings have a worse record, they’re favored for good reason. Chicago is beat up and will be without their center Sam Mustipher.
Combine this with the possibility of missing running back David Montgomery, scoring could be a luxury on Sunday. The Vikings have won their past two, and this win streak started with an upset against the Packers.
Check the updated NFL injury report, as this line could change
The Bears have one of the worst scoring offenses in the league. The Vikings are a middle of the road scoring team. The Vikings have gone over six times this season, but the Bears have gone under six times. With the Bears beat up, expect them to have trouble scoring.
